Intrusive Tree Placements Affecting Friend's Performance

I can't even believe this is a post. What level of entitlement is there to think just because you don't like how someone decorated in their space that it's nuisance behavior.

I am also relieved SE isn't doing something about this. Housing is a form of expression. Everyone gets to decorate how they please. It would be incredibly sad if someone complaining they can't take a picture with their ideal background is all it took.

As you can see, they block the view of our house when we teleport in. I LOVE taking pictures, but can't get a good shot of the front of our house due to this frustrating foliage.

Two of my pals from the FC have mentioned that these trees make their games lag. They've said this is the only time while playing this game (they're level 70 in multiple classes, so a LOT of playtime) that this consistently happens to them.

It's not so much that they don't like how it's decorated and more that how it's decorated actually affects their game play and the game play of others in their FC.

Personally, I'm still confused about how the trees could make someone lag, but stranger things have happened in my life, so who knows. And I'm glad SE isn't taking action on this. I love the other shot that shows all the trees lined up at the front of the yard.

If your friends have older graphics cards/CPUs, they may be experiencing FPS drops in housing areas due to their systems attempting to load so many of the outdoor furnishings (and this includes things beyond these trees). They can try to turn down their settings if it's really that cumbersome, but the GMs cannot force another player to change their yard decorations simply because you don't like it or because your friends "lag".

This isn't obstruction of play, and I'm relieved that the GMs are not taking action.

Unfortunately, most Shiro plots are clumped together with tiny alleyways to feel more 'Asian' inspired. It sucks that this person has no heart to think but a person is allowed to decorate their plot how they want. I hope they are inactive and the issue dissolves itself but you never know they could be night owls and on when you sleep. I think look for another plot, maybe hope for one in your ward so you can stay near your fave neighbours.

Or even though it sucks, teleporting into the estate isn't a major 'yay' and need to see. Screenshots can be taken in other places of your plot if need be and /gpose is the best tool.

By the OP's account, the house owner isn't even aware that there is an issue. And looking at the second screenshot, I can't think of any reason why they would even suspect that there would be one. They have several items hugging the path-side fence, but not even really that many. Certainly not enough that I could imagine them causing graphical errors.

I also can't help but notice that they seem to have living crops in their garden patches, which would mean they're active enough to be gardening. That's a plus for OP, since it means they're more likely to be able to catch them online, though obviously it also means that the house is unlikely to auto-demo, since the owner does seem to be active.

Calling a GM about it was honestly way over the line, and I'm definitely glad the GMs didn't do anything, but I know I'd also be frustrated if every time I teleported to my house I was greeted by my camera clipping through a tree. I hope that if OP does wind up talking to their neighbor, they bare in mind that the neighbor has absolutely no obligation change anything about their yard. Even if the neighbor told OP to screw off, they'd be well within their rights. If the neighbor does move the one tree that's causing the clipping issue, fantastic. If they don't, you'll just have to live with it.

Glad I didn't seek a plot in Shiro. I was looking at that nice, large plot with the back against the ocean rather than the front and no backyard to sit and look out lol. Looking at that 2nd shot with the trees lined up, it appears to me they are trying to hide your house from view...hmmm?
