New ToS gives hope for official DPS meters?

I know this is a controversial topic, but since the new ToS rules means that the GMs can be super-duper strict on toxic behavior--does that mean we could get offical DPS meters?

The biggest negative people have towards DPS meters are that people use them as an excuse to be toxic. Now that people can't afford to be toxic, and Square-Enix is shoring up their loop-holes. Does that really mean we could have non-toxic official DPS meters? Or at least the potential of them?

Would be a fun feature to see them sneak into ShadowBringers.

Yoshi P himself went on record that he's hard against parsers being officially supported. Specially after that specific event on a NicoNico (?) livestream a few years back.

In my opinion it's quite the opposite - why would they take this stance on abusive behavior then hand you a tool to use to break it? It's like telling someone not to break your window while handing them a rock that's perfectly shaped for throwing.

Ma'am, your optimism is wonderful but we are on a one way train to Coddleville. That would require mass amount of players trama due to having a constant reminder of their inadequacies. And we can not have that for our thin skin individuals.

Something about an official SE streamer getting harassed live for poor performance? Somebody else will probably reply with more details. I wasn't active when said event happened but I did hear of it, which speaks of it's impact on the parser stance of both SE and the community.

It's the koike incident and it's the exact reason they arne't allowed and the exact behavior everyone who supports parsers claims will never happen. And it's happened in Japanese community, which is a lot kinder than NA so how do you think NA will behave?

If you google "FFXIV Nico Nico live stream parse" you'll find a good reddit thread describing the series of events and the fallout that occurred if you're interested in learning more.

While that might be the case, he has also gone on record to say that parsers are unofficially supported. His view is that while they are against the terms of service, he is aware that they are used in raid, and that he even uses them in MMOs himself, and is perfectly fine with it. Why do you think people who stream raids while using a parser aren't banned?

His basic TLDR is "Don't be an ass and theres no problem using a parser".

Edit: Finally found a source for my claim, it's not the original interview I saw, but this one does talk about parsers: https://youtu.be/3-WXYg-S05U?t=364
