I don't disagree, but I hope you don't think the new tank and healer will change DPS queues for long.
Well they did say 'where healer just do the same thing, focus on player and heal' which is absolutely untrue. I spend more cooldowns doing damage than I do healing by a good margin (Not counting oGCD which are free heals and pretty much all you need MOST of the time unless you get one of those chaotic groups that stands in everything). Will I do as much as a good DPS? Absolutely not. But a sizable amount.
And yeah, pretty much everything is a DPS. Once tanks and healers do their job, secondary objective is pumping out as much damage as possible.

would be interesting if dancer was a job that could be either a healer or dps and its abilites had different effects depending on which role you were doing but im not sure how that would all work out
This is a forum topic that is a complete waste of time. Did you seriously think they are done with the new job additions? Consider the tradition here so far with each expansion. How many new jobs have each expansion added so far? Go ahead, get your fingers out and fan them out then count them all.
Heavensward:
Added Dark Knight, Astrologian, Machinist, Rogue, Ninja.
Stormblood:
Added Red Mage, Samurai, (can we even count Blue Mage????)
Shadowbringers:
Adding Gunbreaker, others TBA.
Literally hold onto your pants because I am sure S-E is NOT DONE with the new content announcements.
Wait you count Rogue and Ninja as Heavensward class/job when they were released in patch 2.4 (so during A Realm Reborn) but Blue mage might be considered a Stormblood job when released in patch 4.5 (so indeed Stormblood but requiring only A Realm Reborn to be played fully). This is a forum topic that is a complete waste of time. I would write :
A Realm Reborn:
Added Scholar, Summoner, Ninja (patch 2.4).
Heavensward:
Added Dark Knight, Astrologian, Machinist.
Stormblood:
Added Red Mage, Samurai, Blue mage (limited job, patch 4.5).
Shadowbringers:
Adding Gunbreaker, others TBA.
Yasminou, you are correct. I was actually considering excluding Rogue and Ninja, but they figured they counted since they came on the eve of the expansion's launch. Though not officially part of it, they were sort of an en route type of deal.
I was going to give Blue Mage the same consideration, but Blue Mage came way further out from the coming expansion's release than Rogue and Ninja did.

4.5 was in January, 5.0 is in July.
So whether by timeframe, or progression, Ninja was closer to ARR, than BLU was to Stormblood.
