    Next Job Should be a healer

    DPS has NINE jobs, and ten if you count Blue Mage. Tanks now have four, and healers currently are known to have three.

    We have been waiting four years for our next healing job. Stormblood gave you two DPS while healers and tanks got nothing.

    If for some reason they have time for a dps after introducing a healer, then I will be okay with it. If not, then you can wait two more years after we waited four.

    It is the healers turn now.

    DPS have received a new job every major update starting with ninja back in 2.x, then MCH in 3.0, and 2 dps jobs in 4.0 really 3 if you count BLU. And I'm pretty sure another limited job will be introduced in 5.x

    I believe in Yoshi P. They will be revealing a healer and JP fanfest.

    Except, not all dps are the same.

    We have 3 (now 4) vit jobs, 3 str (4 melee) 3 dex(2 phys ranged) 3 caster (5 total ranged), and 3 healer (assuming 4 now as well)

    There was an equal number of the different types of jobs before. Now it's unbalanced.

    I don't play ranged jobs hardly at all, I don't enjoy them. That means I have 4 choices for dps, not 9. Really the only one that was the odd one out was physical ranged dps and melee, - 1 and +1 respectively.

    Stat distribution has zero effect on the jobs themselves, since SE still has to balance them out to do X things regardless which stat they are scaling with.
    You could make mage to scale with vit, or whatever and it wont change a lot, materia is cheap either way.

    That said, I think Dancer should be healer; and with that statement comes my firm hope that they can balance the healers with 4 better than with 3.

    You still have nine choices for dps. You just chose not to play ranged dps.

    Except even the game splits them between melee and ranged. The queue even looks for equal ranged and melee. They are basically seperate things.

    Yeah, but if they're not around you still get lumped with the DPS available, so not the same thing.

    Healers and tanks get lumped with the same job as theirs in 8 man PUGs as well, and it is far more awkward when it does happen.

    By this logic, you still have 15 options for jobs, you just chose not to play some of them.

    Like Valkyrie said, not all DPS players want to play every kind of DPS. I don't like playing physical ranged, so for me, I had no new job to try out for all the Heavensward expansion. The bard from my raid group doesn't like playing any melee job, so she won't have had a new job to play with for a full expansion with Shadowbringers. At this point, everyone has had to go through cycles of not having any new options for their preferred play style. I don't think healers should be asked to wait for two expansions for new options, but I will say that at this point in addition to healer, physical ranged is also due for a job (also not to mention that is actually the least represented playstyle only having bard and machinist)

    The same can be said for healer like Regen/Shield healer.
    Or for example, some don't want to play shield healer, some don't want to play pet healer, some don't want to play basic healer (whm), some don't want do deal with cards, etc.
    Many healers don't have all the 3 jobs leveled because there are not interested to all of them.
    I understand, that maybe because of the dps population and because a dps is maybe easier to design, their number are more important that tanks and healers.
    But, I'am sorry, but at this point, 3 jobs compared to 9, it's just unfair.
    The classification : 4/4/9 for 5.0 and 5/5/10 (with range dps) for 6.0 should be the thing, I hope (+ maybe BLU adding as true caster during 5.X)
