So you're saying any future 'Scouting' gear they release should be able to be equipped by NIN, BRD and MCH, while any 'Striking' gear they eventually release will be equippable by DRG, MNK and SAM?

It's guaranteed that we'll at least get a new healer with the expansion, along with Gunbreaker. Whether or not there is a third new job, we don't know. And it's highly likely the new healer is Dancer.

I'm not saying this because I think dancer should be a dps, but I recall everyone in being pretty sure samurai was gonna be a tank since RDM was a dps. Point being nothing's guaranteed; more than likely and definitely a good decision though? Yes.

The main hitch I see with DNC being a healer is something I saw mentioned in another thread. Look at healer gear in game its nearly all long robes and cloaks. Very un-dancer like. Visually the scouting gear for ninja would be a better fit which could see DNC actually being a dex based support/dps if they add it.

We had the same complaints flying around for Red Mage. "How could they do their flips and sword attacks in those big heavy robes?"

It worked then, I'm sure it'll work now.

SCH is the undisputed for of healing. AST is right there with SCH, with the only thing that could potentially push them out slightly being if DNC has strong utility.
If they keep their stance on WHM of a "pure healer" we can pretty much kiss them goodbye.

That's always going to be the case when you have 2 spots in a raid to fill and 3 classes, no? There WILL be 2 that are optimal if even by 5%. I recall this being said about AST for months and then blammo they got a huge buff to their skills and they pushed WHM out the door.

well healer just heal, when dps can be on several aspect ; rang, melee, melee + range, rang + melee + supp
where healer just do the same thing, focus on player and heal,

so maybe to see another way to heal, i dont think a 4th class is really needed.

but could be interesting to have some hybride rôle, dps + heal for exemple. or tank + heal, also who could switch between those role.

PLD is a tank+heal and RDM is a dps + heal. Although, every healer can also do decent DPS so they're all pretty much dps + heal anyway.

By that logic everything is a dps lol...

As a healer we have 2-3 dps moves and honestly we are more on heal mode counting almost all the teams you get do not know how 2 dodge even if by some luck you get a perfect team still after 60 you have 2 spend more time in healer mode plus after 60 lets face it there are more healer mecha than anything lol..


Also did someone rlly bring up cloths as a reason dnc should be a dps and not a healer rlly? When there are half nude tanks every where lol

We need another tank and healer. DPS queues are ridiculous. I maintain a healer on par with my bard main only because it's a quick queue into the dungeons for the MSQ. I shouldn't have to do that. I'm rooting for Dancer to be a deflection tank. That would be awesome.
