If this is directed to me, I actually only have time to do a lot of my playing Friday~Sunday. Monday~Thursday I have classes, and any free evening time I have is usually spent raiding on Tuesday/Wednesday/(sometimes) Thursday evenings before I have to get off to do homework and the like. I try to do as much as my homework on campus between classes, but it doesn’t always work out that way.

That being said, you’re speaking from having a lack of time, but what happens if you run the alliance raid once and fail to get a Need and Greed drop? Won’t you still have to run it over again unti you satisfy your 2 drop threshold anyways?

There’s really no need for this. Not when the game barfs other methods of getting gear at the players. And, unless you’re planning to do Savage, the Augmented Crafted (which is i390 as well; same as the Orbonne) or the Unaugmented Tomestone gear is more than enough for all the content that will come out until the expansion releases. If you’re trying to get your jobs to a certain item level before then, well you have plenty of time. EA isn’t until June 28, so the game won’t go down until a few days before then (I believe it’s usually 48 hours of downtime).

So the only option I have is get stuff from tomestones and I guess I'm not as patient as some of you are.
In terms of time, you can easily get to your 450 cap by doing 1 Expert Roulette a day for 5 days — 90 Genesis x 5 days = 450. The average Expert Roulette is probably ~20 mins. If you want to factor in DPS queues, ~1 hour at the absolute most. You have until a few days before June 28 to get any and all jobs you play to a decent item level.

In terms of patience, I don’t bother prioritizing gear for jobs I don’t hardly play. If I happen to get a drop for them, cool. If I have extra tomestones to spend, cool. But as long as the main jobs I play are geared, I’m fairly content.

The issue with your statement is that the roulettes often force you to do the same dungeons and its been like that for years...
Please don't give me the excuse that you still find those dungeons as exciting as you once thought they were many years ago when you first played them.
I must have done satasha like 200 times allready... so no it's not easy to keep doing the same dungeons just to get those tomestones.
Another sollution would be that SE changes the maps for roulettes

I never said I found them exciting. Don’t strawman. You want to get your tomestones? The fastest way is 5 Expert Roulettes a week. Expert doesn’t give you Sastasha, btw. Leveling Roulette is terrible for current tomestones, as it only gives 5.

Satasha is an example since leveling roulette is one of the oldest, to give you an idea that the dungeons you get on roulettes never changed much.
For me its mentally very hard to persuade myself to do a dungeon I did so many times before cuss that makes it highly boring. I often catch myself falling asleep during a dungeon just because I'm fed up with them.
So no I wouldn't call it "fast" unless you refer to fast asleep. It's hard to finish a dungeon without falling asleep cuss if you do.. you miss out on those tomes anyway cuss ppl will kick you
This is what happens if you spend over 3000 hours on these roulettes xD

I actually agree with OP. I don't agree that we should get more than one item from raid, but I do think that something needs to be done about gearing multiple jobs. Endgame currently promotes the idea of having one job that is BiS while the game itself promotes the idea that you can play everything on one character. What that means is that the majority of content is "catch-up" and doesn't serve any purpose unless you are specifically catching up.

I feel like the Devs need to take a serious look at the ilvl system because it limits content rewards way too much. As much as people rag on eureka, it's reward structure makes it valuable to do, and rewarding no matter what type of player you are.

Then mix in other things that give you current tomestones—Eureka, other roulettes, maps, Savage, farm Extreme trials, etc.. It’s not like it’s hard to come by them.

Honestly, you seem to just be making excuses. I find Expert Roulette as boring as the next guy, but I can at least manage to take 20 mins out of my evening to do one of them. Not that big of a deal.

Eureka is the most boring thing out there that takes most of your time so thats impossible for me. We do weekly treasure hunts for the same reason cuss then we can have fun in VC and still earn some.... but there's a damn cap on gathering tomestones aswell.. otherwise we'd do maps twice a week... This game is muted to stay boring to some extent and the only reason I play today is for my friends on this game. So yes, I'm trying to help make this game more exciting and not just for me but for others who also might have played this game soo long they are in need of a WOW factor.
As for what Lambdafish said, I agree that the current droprate is ok "if" there would be a chance that a rare item drops. I'm sure that a lot of people would play longer knowing they would be in the center of attention if they are able to gain enough unique gear.

I already addressed that. I wasn't talking about the content, simply the reward structure. Eureka has logograms, lockboxes, heated/cold lockboxes, rare items from NMs (cassies earrings as an example), relic weapons, and story that make it valuable to many players. Imagine if content that actually had fun gameplay had a reward structure that was respected that way.

I wholeheartedly agree with this right here. Again, this whole set of raids, and weekly limits have NOT changed since the 2.0 era began for FFXIV. And they don't plan to change what isn't broken. Doesn't need fixing. It is what it is and will stay that way till the game dies or people unsub.
