If you've been playing this game for a few months or a year, I'd say you're still new enough not to understand. But since you come off as someone who's been playing awhile, you should know the system hasn't changed since coil. So get off your soap box and stop playing the game and unsub, or live with it. The system hasn't changed since coil, and it's not gonna change now. Don't fix what ain't broken.

Uhm... did you forget this is an mmo? Hello? EVERYTHING takes time to achieve. Want endgame raid gear? Weekly clear and farm. Want tome gear? Farm. Want BiS weapons? FARM. Again, you're not the only person throughout the history of 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 that has made this suggestion. And you know what hasn't changed? The way things are in endgame content. Congratulations! You found the answer! You're preaching to the already converted, but nothing is bound to change. If you're not happy, unsub and take some time off and come back, or quit altogether. As someone who's been around the block for as long as this game's been in 1.0's hand (being in 1.0 up until now), outside of 1.0's content related trash shoot, the rest of the series is just meant to be kept longevity. Everything will uncap a few weeks prior to the next patch ilvl or expansion, which again, hasn't changed format since 2.0. Welcome to MMO's in general.

Don't try to pretend you're the only person who's thought about the same answer quick fixes. I'll be the first to tell you, YOU'RE NOT. Let me remind you that most of the content related issues come from 1.0, and that this game STILL continues using 1.0 coding. Which breaks a lot of things in the game, or leaves room for holes. Happens a lot. Again, something you might not understand, seeing as you might not have been around from 1.0 to gauge that at the time. But it's a common issue in the game. And unless they decide to update the coding (which won't happen unless they delete this game too), the 1.0 coding will still cause flare damage when they test and release new content into the game that's not already been implemented. 1.0 coding is the new "PS2 limitations" of FFXIV.
