    Kamacite Ore

Got a question about the subs. At a quick glance at this thread it seems that the Coelacanth parts are very strong, but being the genius that I am, I opted to skip those and craft the Syldra parts.

Currently my subs are all Whale class. Is that enough to get the kamacite ore? I haven't got a single one yet and I feel like at this point its not rng, it's my stats. Do I need to make the Coelacanth parts? Thanks

120 Surveillance is the lowest I have been able to find it with. Build was WWCC

Its still RNG dependent but had zero luck with all Shark part ships which is 5 more Surveillance over your build

All whale parts puts you at 25 surveillance and you want to be near 130's for the ore. Airship parts have each newer tier as a direct upgrade of the previous parts, however submersible parts are not like that and the stats weights are scrambled each tier. This makes it so for the most part you don't want to have a submersible that has all one part type. The Coel parts just happen to have a decent spread of stats and a rather high surveillance stat when used together so that rarer items are on the list when the dice get rolled for what the ship has picked up.

edit: To add to this, an all Syldra submersible also wouldn't do you any good if you wanted it to have access to every zone as it has a maximum range of 40 and some of the newer zones are beyond that range.
