1. The time period for all of Stormblood and its patches has passed.

2. It's heavily implied that we're headed for time and/or dimensional travel shenanigans. The whole thing could be taking place in a future time, or they've been flung back into the past, or they're actually on the First Shard and Thancred has to protect Minfilia from the Light-spawned horrors that are out to prevent her from fulfilling her task in the first place.

3. How long should it take for an aetherially-charged anti-Ascian to absorb a Flood of Light anyway? It could happen in seconds. It could take years.

4. The whole game takes place in a wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey bubble anyway. It's still only five years since the Calamity.

Did the shard of the WoD went to hell, they all died and Hydaelyn decided to go back to the source?
Actually the Warriors of Darkness are almost certainly dead regardless of what's happened after Minfilia went to the First. In fact, it's covered in the 3.4 storyline (you can rewatch the cutscene at the inn) that they actually had* to die before they could leave their home shard. They are, by some unclear method, essentially very solid ghosts - and by choosing to return home alongside Minfilia, it's implied that they will likely die entirely.

* "had to" is questionable, because it was Elidibus who guided and assisted them to travel to the Source and become Warriors of Darkness in the first place - and I, at least, don't trust that he ever gave them 100% of the facts. It all only ended as well as it did because Urianger managed to outplay Elidibus.

Maybe all fragments will be put together finally in 4.55 explaining the sudden aether thinning all over eorzea?
It's certainly leading up to something. A Flood? A Calamity? Some unforseen scale of disaster that the mysterious Voice is trying to warn us about?

If so, this calamity we are about to face, isn't more like Hydaelyn being evil and suddenly crushing all the diferent worlds that conform her only to regain more of her full strenght? Why if not would we become "of darkness" if not to at least, lean towards Zodiark and Elidibus side?
We really have had very little sign of any of that. Hydaelyn is still weak - far weaker than She ever was in ARR when She could talk to us freely. And She's never shown any sign of being anything but benevolent.

There are a lot of questions and we've been discussing it in the Lore forum for a while now. What's the actual nature of Light? Can She control it or is She merely associated with it somehow? She may have nothing directly to do with the Light-based monsters we've seen in the trailer.

As much as She could have been lying to us all along, I find it hard to take.

And given the previous Warriors of Darkness's experience with Elidibus, I don't think we're supposed to be taking the Ascians' side. Maybe we will; maybe we'll be fooled in the same way the Warriors were. (Maybe this is exactly what Arbert was trying to warn us not to do.)

Of course, Elidibus seems quite determined to kill us directly at the moment, so who knows where the whole thing is going to go.

And if so, shouldn't be Unulkalhai the first person that comes to mind to help us in this endeavor...?
Poor Unukalhai - does he ever come to anyone's mind? He just sits in the solar all day, nobody seems to think to check on him or ask him to help with any of the other issues we've been dealing with lately.....

But seriously? I'm foggy on the Warring Triad. Both my alts are sitting at the start of the questline so I really need to replay it. I've just read back through the script though.

Really it raises more questions than answers.

He's working directly for Elidibus. Has he not had any new instructions in all this time? Why have the Scions not asked him for help? Or at least mentioned him?

With the weird nature of time flow in the game, I think he's still stuck back in 3.X while everyone around him has moved on in time. Which is really, really disappointing.

Why, is, she, back, NOW.

If this was 8.0, man, no worries, she said she would be back eventually. Not the other expansion over damn it.
She left at the end of 3.4. Inbetween we have had 3.5, 3.55, waiting time between patches (which I'm fairly sure canonically happens), all of Stormblood and at least five patches since. Six if she doesn't turn up in 4.56.

That's a very long time as far as I'm concerned.
