Could do something like what they did with Dun Scaith. Create a currency you can get from the raid weekly for all those goodies. The original Succubus fight offered the sword glamour, and the tokens you got from the replacing Ultima fight also gave access to a glamour piece alongside actual upgrades (SE please add that bit to the Monastery, you even have a mini boss area you can swap out)

But I want Virtuous Contact specifically.
There are plenty of other weapons anyway. Longswords, greatswords, spears, combat braces(fist weapons), an axe, and daggers.

Yeah. Now, I know alliance raids don't normally come with weapons, but for this crossover I feel NOT having some weapons would be a huge wasted opportunity so I REALLY hope they put some in. I'm also hoping for some gear sets based on Nier and Automata characters. Like a ninja set themed after Kaine with her twin swords, mostly Ninja as it's our only dual wield job.But I want Virtuous Contact specifically.

Personally, I'd rather see weapons added as strictly glamour so they don't have to consider about mucking up the end-game balance at all. Either earned as a reward from an additional weekly sidequest similar to the one associated with Proto-Ultime from the Mhach series or just purchased from an NPC associated with the Raid series upon completion of certain events/sidequests.Yeah. Also want to point out, that while the Blood sword was once a reward in DS, it was simply lifted from the Gold Saucer. My theory is that they always planned to replace the Succubus fight with Proto-Ultima and kinda threw that weapon in there as an additional reward as well until she was replaced.
However, as was briefly mentioned, the Proto-Ultima fight does establish a precedent for variance in the formula. As this fight had an associated sidequest where players could earn an additional weekly token that allowed them to purchase a unique body glam or accessories (some of which were actually BiS at the time of release). So for those pointing out that they've never had weapons in a 24-man series before... Proto-Ultima is the only instance thus far where accessories were included as part of 24-man raid content, and it was further isolated to only the final act of the Mhach raid series.
I'm sure that the developers are aware that players would like to see weapons or weapon glamour from Nier, so something similar could be executed for the final part of Yorha. Like I said, personally I'd rather just see them as glamours, but if the weapons were actually at a "competitive" ilevel (either 10 or 5 levels below the ilvl of augmented upgraded tome/savage gear) then I think they should have a steeper purchase requirement. Perhaps one of each acts token currency, so players could only purchase one weapon per week upon the initial release of the content, and by doing so they are also foregoing the purchase of the free upgrade item for tome equipment.
Second... while I would also love to see Kaine glamour, I would hope that it is a level 1 glam not restricted to roles. Personally, I don't like how they restricted character glamour from the Ivalice series (f.e., Vaan, Balthier, Ramza, Agrias sets). While these characters all have a starting job, through the course of the actual game players are free to do whatever they want to do with them as far as roles are concerned. However, these characters appearances don't adjust to role changes. Vaan always looks like Vaan no matter what weapon he's wielding, ditto for Ramza and Agrias when taking on different jobs.
It was only the "generic" unit appearances from FFT that were strictly restricted to the associated jobs. Meta-comps aside, I could have used Balthier as my healer the entire time through FFXII if I wanted, so my personal association to him would be as a healer/mage. I find it unfortunate that they decided to role lock these characters' iconic appearances in their implementation into FFXIV.
In the 5.0 raid series, I fully expect to get at least one act to have Yorha variant gear for all roles. But any gear that is a direct reference to a character I hope is strictly glamour and not locked to any one role. Kaine gear, Emil Masks, Automaton suits, etc... let it all be level 1 glam pls...

What about the Monster Hunter world crossover event? The gear is a joke, considering NOTHING looks like ANY of the MH gear you see in any of the games. Yoshi-P's excuse was insulting as is, saying the gear from MH wouldn't be something the crafters would be able to make during a LLP after the events release, which came to question. Yet MHW got a full scale DRG armor set both as armor equippable or glamour skin over the current gear. I wouldn't be surprised if Squeenix came up with an excuse like this as well, saying "well, it doesn't fit into the game"
