Important for people to remember. Women attracted to women ≠ sexless and without any interest in beauty or attractiveness. Also, as a woman sometimes I just have fun playing sexy fanservice women. They're pretty and exciting and kick butt while being impossibly feminine. Is it something I could do in real life? Naw. But it's an entertaining fantasy.

But honestly, there are a lot of ways male Viera could turn out too. They could full well end up bara bunny men. The point is that if they aren't there, people who want male fanservice potential are left out.

Also. Having seen some nasty comments against Japanese people in the thread by other people (racism still counts against Asians, maybe if you hate Japanese people so much you shouldn't be exploiting their games while desperately pretending it popped into existence out of thin air) I'd like to point out that Asia is SIGNIFICANTLY better than the West about offering male fanservice. This absolutely includes Square Enix.

And that's not even touching other properties like say, ADEKAN.

When has there been ANYTHING comparable in the West, let alone in videogames? Seriously, Orlando Bloom as Legolas is about as close as I'm getting.

Japan is way more sexually comfortable than the West on this front. Square Enix specifically is also way more comfortable. I'm going to say that given how much they keep putting in male fanservice and pretty guys for their games, they know there's an audience for it.

Someone on another site pointed out the female Viera share the same facial model, which suggests Viera just aren't finished yet. This makes a lot of sense to me. We have half a year before release. Panicking is premature.
