"those races" which races? what are you talking about? and how do you get that imaginary info? what clipping? Do you mean an other game? Which game? How do you know? Also what clipping exactly? not only are their clipping errors in ffxiv already with something baseleine hyur, we are talking about race with bunny ears. Yes this seems perfect for non clipping helmets. make sense please

This is the primary reason why it is very doubtful that we'll ever have a player race that truly looks inhuman. We'll get tall humans, burly humans, childlike humans, humans with a few animal bits on, but always, always humans.

Other MMOs don't have this problem, because they DON'T have humans vs inhumans as a primary storyline driver - or, at least, when they do, they design it that way from the ground up and make it a primary gameplay feature with two separate storylines (such as human faction vs orc faction in WoW).
Not only is this wrong, because FF has a pleatora of races to draw from that are not "beasts" (like literal dwarfs, for example) but the already implemented ones, like au'ra are desigend, like i just said, just like another flavour of a cat girl, instead you know maybe more akin to the concept art

Also it shown with the au'ra that they shit on race specific story anyway like they ignore it in any story moment that wouldnt make sense to have an au'ra walking arround ishgard or the reaction in Azim Steppe. A really flimsy excuse

On the one hand, a new character will have to go through the 2.0 story first where that conflict is more pronounced. On the other hand, the conflict is against specific Eorzean beast tribes, so there may be some flexibility when dealing with other beast-like race.

Give players a beastmen exclusive dialogue option: "it's a costume." Eorzeans will believe this, if the 2017 Halloween event is anything to go by (if I recall, they believed the Lupin was a costume).

It is outright thrown out as an outdated term in the second lorebook.

I'm somewhat optimistic about Viera. If Fran is similar to the model we get to use then we can expect tall, graceful and lean ladies (with a fierce temper). Seeing Fran contemplate what to do with Moogles made me think this race has potential even if they look like overgrown Miqo'te.

I have not been able to recreate my very first MMO character with the Elezen, but now it could be possible. Maybe the men get to be more beastly too! I'm looking forward to playing with the benchmark and seeing the animations and customization options.

The quest literally tells you why they're allowed in Ul'dah: Ul'dah barred beastmen out to drive out foreign market competition (ie. Goblins). The beastmen in the BLU quests are neither native to Eorzea/local nuisances (Amalj'aa) nor are they merchants (Goblins) so they get to stick around as part of the circus troupe.

I think the lady mentioned how Mamool Ja weren't mentioned in the laws at all, so it was a technicality. I'm sure Lupin, Namazu, and Kojin could slip between the cracks too.

I'd like to see the Namazu with their wacky hijinks in Ul'dah - yes, yes.

On a more serious note, all four of those races you mentioned are not native to Eorzea, so of course the Syndicate failed to write in or otherwise anticipate the lot of them.

Yup, they're not from Eorzea nor have they have historically had a real presence in Eorzea so they aren't likely written in. That said, it'd probably be safer for them to stick to places where people are more familiar with them. If the first Xaela to stumble into Coerthas were executed for looking like dragons I don't know how well a Kojin would fare lol
