All that people against regional servers ever bring to the table is how fun it is to interact with other cultures, which is valid, but this is a game and gameplay > all.
  • Interacting with other cultures
  • A steady population to play with at all times (rather than NA only servers in other MMO's even your vaunted WoW with it's millions of subscribers which die during off, non-peak hours)
  • The economic, and game play benefits of having multiple regions and time zones represented. (not everyone competing for everything at the same time, in general a greater variety of suppliers due to a 24 hour global community as opposed to a regional one)

  • Being able to play with people around the world, nothing to do with "culture" simply the fact that some of us have people we like to play with who don't happen to live in the same country as we do. Why is that so hard for you to understand, this is the global internet if you want media constricted to your geographic location how about you go find a LAN party.

All people supporting Regional servers have to say are (omitting the blatant racism which always pops up in these discussions):

"I can't understand their funny language". Even though the game features an in-game translation tool, and easily facilitates the use of third party sources to help communicate with people in other languages.

The fact that the majority of players are able to make an effort to communicate across language barriers in all sorts of situations and have for years in FFXI/XIV wome eludes these people.

and "I have all this lag because the servers are located on the other side of the world!" from people who don't understand how the internet works.
