As someone that no ironically thinks several of these are really truly bad implementations of systems that have actually damaged the game integrity and it's playerbase, and should be fixed.
As someone who is always being critical of this game design desisions and not always share sentiments be it for experiencial or theorical knowledge with the developer team and many of the player base.
As someone who probably is called a "Hater" and a "Doomsayer" more often than not, because my way to see the game is divergent and i want this game to change the whole MMORPG genre as i see it, is the only MMORPG that can trascend the fate that this genre is unavoidably heading into.

This thread was an amazing read. I loved every sentence of it, specially the ends of each "death". Just glorious.

Add blue mage, some pvp stuff (specially feast unique, exclusive rewards, im so salty about them, hellhounds were literally the only mount i have ever desired in this game and i couldn't get them because the terrible ranking system) and idk, amazing work.

19. DRK as Tank: One day, we were given info that Batman was going to be a job. Some people got past that, and realized it was Dark Knight. "They're the best DPS in every FF game they're in! I can't wait!" One weekly later was the official announcement, where everyone was excited for two minutes, before it was revealed as a tanking class. "DRK as Tank!? That's absurd! There is no way that a tank that could hold hate by damage alone and has natural self heals could be good!" said people too impatient to wait for more info. Many players quit the game at this point, causing SE to take the servers offline because the game was no longer profitable.

I found that one thing really funny.
Players feedback is sometimes super trash. I wonder what an impact players complaining had on the shape of the DRK today, probably not good at all.

20. Gender Inequality: SE decided to make cute armor one time, but limited it to the only gender it actually looks good on: females. "We want to wear a pretty pink dress too!" Cried the menfolk. "Welcome to our world" stated the bronies. "I want pants and not a crotchguard!" said the poster of this thread. The people laughed at the poster for being downright silly, as they continued to hate SE for not supporting Roegadyn men in drag. Many players quit the game at this point, causing SE to take the servers offline because the game was no longer profitable.

And this applies for it too.
Not long ago people were complaining about stuff in the game being girly.

I already knew of this threads existence back then myself. It was a very funny read back then, and it still is today. Sadly, I think the OP has moved on, as the first post of the thread hasn't been updated in quite some time. And thus, why the thread sunk so far. Ah well.

I agree on adding BLU to that list though. And Pagos. And I'm sure there'll be more to come. The developers of this game can't even so much as lift a finger without there always being something.

Hey, how about an update? There were so many things you could add there, for instance:

N. BLU as limited job. The community was carving for one of most omnipresent class in FF games: Blue Mage. The development team was even pressed for it before the Stormblood release. SE developers added some funny gimmick to tell them that there won't be Blue Mage in this game... Until 4.5. This class was finally announced. The players was happy, because they would finally play BLU in their raids and Dutie Finders. Except that a second later it was announced as a limited job, what means no DF, no Raid, not even Lvl. 70 BLU. "That's another Lord of Verminion", said many players that quit the game at this point, causing SE to take the servers offline because the game was no longer profitable.

This thread is a bundle of joy, not just from a comical perspective but hindsight too. As someone who joined in 3.4 ( I believe that was Revenge of the Horde? Someone can correct me on this), this thread served as wealth of knowledge of issues I didn't know existed back then. Things like sands and oils which I regularly thrash, Second Coils to DF, The wall street blanket ban (btw, I'd like a full crash course from a veteran cause this is too juicy to be reading the abridged version on this thread), NiN as dps and so much more that now...just seems really, really quaint. I look at this stuff and can't help "people we're bitching about this"?

And yet, I can sort of understand, their point. Or better yet, their feelings and I guess at the end of the day, that might be the crux of these many deaths: intense feelings.

When I joined, one of my ever increasing pet peeves of this was the journal quest track. I know people are gonna go "are you serious Patty"? Yes, yes I'm serious. There was no tracking when I joined and I was doing a lot of sidequest. A lot. And it just grated me to no ends that I couldn't just toggle them on and off. I even remember complaining about it on the forums (didn't rage, just requested a tracker toggle...even though it was met with "just don't do sidequests" and stuff).

Then I think shortly after, QoLs came not too long after and behold, quest toggler! Yay. I'm happy about it now but sometimes I can't help but think what would've happened if they had taken too long? Would've I just put up with it and not do any sidequests ( or at least more than 5 at a time)? Or would've been peeved so bad that I'd run to another mmo who could? Stupid, I know but...

Feelings are just that, feelings. And sometimes, they don't prevail over reason. That's why sometimes you can catch me saying "let's not take up extreme/radical solutions to ongoing problems" because if you blink, you just might miss the patch that fixes them.
