Compare this with Aetherochemical Research Facility, Ala Mihgo or Baelsar's Wall
Oh look, its 3 dungeons most people absolutely hate getting tossed into for roulettes because after you do it once, they're each tedious and not really fun

    Probably not just a coincidence.

It's not about difficulty, it's about catching up so people can finish up story lines.
The problem I find is that every single dungeon is a catch-up mechanic. There are no challenging end-game dungeons.

This means as a non-savage casual player you have less content to catch up to. You have Normal Alpha and the 24 man, but there is never a harder dungeon to put that shiny new gear to the test. So you basically do your 2 weekly raids and feel regret that you rushed to endgame so fast.

I've always felt they should do 1 catch up and 1 challenging dungeon per patch. Something for everyone.

False the only thing hard about Suzzie Q was if you had lagg/ping issues on the color phase. Besides that she was even easier then Snake dad.

They kinda tried that with Pharos and it did not seem to be well liked by the community.

Well, I can see the complaint that there aren't challenging end game dungeons. I assumed that's what hard modes were for, but I guess they aren't challenging enough? I don't know, I tend to skip them since they are copy/paste of regular dungeons. I'm not sure what the reward of a challenging end game dungeon would be, except maybe glamours, since the whole raiding loot, vs. dungeon loot, vs, crafting, etc. balance.

I'm not saying I'm against it, by any means... I am just not clear what that would look like... especially as the expansion went on and new dungeons were released. The game seems heavy casual based with just some extreme stuff for those raiders.

Because the general FFXIV player base is simply bad at mechanics. See: Steps of Faith, Ozma, Thunder God.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

Well, to be fair, this FF XIV is very reaction/memory based... lots of FF fans were drawn to strategic/turn based games or something similar... so there is an intersection of gaming styles that happens here.

While the fight as a whole is easier, I wouldn't say it's a step down at all. The mechanics are much more responsive and with less moments of weird snapshotting, together with a complete new style of fight where the enemy brings mechanics from a Dungeon used previously in the same side story to use the player's memory to react accordingly. Seiryu brought many new cool elements to the table and if this is what the dev team plans for the future, I can't wait for more.

In the end Seiryu is easier mostly for being less punishing than Suzaku instead of the difficulty behind doing the mechanics correctly. Suzakus is a much simpler fight with less things to be executed by the players, they just happen to kill you easily if you don't do them correctly unlike Seiryu.

I wish no more Expert Dungeons. Just watch cutscene and teleport to next NPC for MSQ. Rowena gets on her knees and presents you with a full gear-set every time a new one comes out.

What the game needs is a proper learning curve, and Dungeons should fulfill that role, bridge the gap between casual timesink based content and harder trials.

Yesterday i was in the Aery, leveling roulette, a mentor ninja couldnt be bothered to do a single thing, using throwing knives constantly at melee range, i've never saw a single ninjitsu skill. The BLM was spamming fire III without consideration, and when out of MP, would stand next to enemies without going into umbral ice.
I would tolerate this in Sastacha up to Toto-Rak. But in a lvl 55 dungeon?

This people shouldnt be able to progress if they dont know how to play their classes at the most basic levels. Dungeons stopped being a learning experience like in brayflox, after that every dungeon is just the same, difficulty wise there is nothing going on for them and since most people running them now are way overgeared and leveled, the terrible sync system doesnt help either.

This game has no learning curve, and thus, we have people that is level 70 in most classes and can't even play one correctly... Let alone the skip potions.
