This is very true, the only rng in BLU was getting to mob to target the person with learn, but most the skills were aoe so that mitigated it. It was only ffXI where it was rng, because MMO's. All other BLU's is 100% learn if the condition was met

Sorry to break it to you, but mot of us are too busy having fun with it to post about it on the forums. Give it a week or two for the initial hype to die down, and you might get some more answers.
So what i think they need to do, Keep it as a limited Job for leveling purposes 1-50. Have a quest at 50 to "unlock" the limited nature of the job, which also imposes a Spell level. This would allow the overpowered spells to be used in the higher content, ie 1k needles would be a lv 50 spell, while Water cannon would be level 1. (Yes several spells would be higher level in this instance to counter the balancing issues) But then a Blu could join the DF and participate in actual content. At 50, doing 1k damage isn't overpowered, Especially as other have said, since Blu gets no stats on their weapon (which i think they also need to work on, but that's another topic)
That's so much of why Blu in 11 was as balanced as it was, you didn't get access to your powerful spells until later in your leveling progression, and even once you did get those spells, you had to better manage your MP.
That's another road they could take, change the MP values on spells. 1k needles is literally spammable, and with the cast time, you pretty much never run out of MP that i have experienced so far.
And i also agree that spells should be 90% soloable. Claiming its a solo job, then forcing it to find alternate ways into Duties to get a large number of their spells is very contradictory.
I just want potency increases on some skills. Why is everything hovering around 90 - 130? I know there are combos, but you can't even use most of those on bosses because they resist the status effects that set up the combos.
This (to me) makes no sense why they couldn't just use the carnival with two separate versions like POTD and HoH did.
1) To climb the ranks similar to POTD and HoH in rankings
2) Make the quests for BLU THROUGH Carnival (to learn) and put them with the other jobs like every other job
Most (if not all bosses) resist specific stuff like sleep, bind, heavy and slow from our already given jobs of SMN BLM RDM. Why couldn't BLU skills (with absolute garbage potency) just have the same resistance spells in the game do the same thing?
Got Level 5 petrify? Resist. Missile? Resist. Doom? Resist.
BLU is a "solo" limited job, but requires parties for party based content, to actually learn skills that you can't even use half the time, since they combine with other CD's for the same cool down timer. The advertisement seems very falsely placed when making it written text as a "solo" limited job as well.
Didn't mean to post that twice.
Ya know...we should just call Blue Mage "Chocobo Mage".
When the level cap is raised to 60, we'll probably get some Chocobo spells from Tailfeather. I don't think anything outside of Rabanastre used Choco Meteor, though.
At this point, we shouldn't expect them to change into a real job at all. I'm just hoping limited jobs don't become the norm and they just toss unique jobs into limited jobs section. But the fact that they did this to an iconic BLU job and not Red Mage or Summoner? It's just an strange call.
I don't know if I'm in the minority in this case but I'm just really fearful of future jobs being placed into that section. I'm more nervous than excited about them adding new jobs at this pount.
Same. It’ll be really sad and boring for me if they just keep adding limited jobs that are nothing but rng grindfests where you can’t make any significant progression without having to ask other players to carry you repeatedly through old content for a 3% chance of getting what you need. No thanks. Please don’t do again. I prefer real jobs if this is what happens when they try something new.At this point, we shouldn't expect them to change into a real job at all.
