The average community size is approximately 500,000 (its actually more but lets use that as an estimate). And lets use actual statistics rather than tiny polls: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...tone_data_715/ (It's outdated, but a good enough estimate for this post).

If we use that as a base then we can extrapolate that 100 / 500,000 = 0.0002, which is 0.02% of the community. That poll is based on a minuscule fraction of the community and is nowhere near representative.


Lets even put in some more assumptions to dispute the data. Let's assume that every character in that data is a player with an alt that has completed the story. That still comes out to 0.04% of the community, which no matter how you spin it, is completely irrelevant.

Please read my original comment. I listed 6k first and then said 100+ is good for the forums, maybe I could have worded it better but all I meant was that's the best data you'll get for the desire of something (from here, the forums, is ~the 100+ marker is quite high). I knew that the community of the forums represents a fraction of the forums that's why I listed a nearly 6k poll.

A 6k poll could be used (with error due to how it was asked and who knows how long it was up for all timezones/people, but it could say there exists desire (also as someone pointed out now that it's out probably need to see how many changed their minds)). Not that you need 25% of a population to figure something out (given a well put together poll lol, which we need SE to run if we want some good data - hence ours will have quite a bit of error and should only take something like "probably quite a few people want to DF blue").

You're focusing on a point that I didn't make (or at least never tried to make).
