Viera Race "Confirmed" for 5.0! Are you gonna change races?

The only notable female Au Ra have been a ninja, archer, and a mage. Outside of that there is much room for variety but from what I've seen in Stormblood Xaela females don't really take up roles that place excessive amounts of physical strain on them, unlike the males we've seen. They are the gatherers while males serve as hunters/defenders.

No, Xaela women in lore and sidequests are presented as warriors, with some tribes being all female and others tribes where females are the hunters/protectors and males to do the child rearing and house work. Even in the main Oronir camp the two famed wrestlers of the tribe are both females, and you're supposed to accept that two 5 foot nothing girls can go toe to toe with 7 foot tall warriors.

Though I’d much (muchmuchmuchmuch) prefer larger bunnies for both genders, if SE was fine with the ridiculousness of tiny anime waifus being “dangerous”, I don't think tiny deadly bunnies of the forest are too outrageous.

One of the other concept art for male viera showed them as looking pretty large and muscular. Once we saw that they have Fran I altered my own character to show what I am hoping the male counterpart looks like. Personally I'm hoping to get something like the female elezen and male highlander frames as the basis of the size and builds for the two sexes. I'll be disappointed if what we actually get is basically Miquotes with different ears.

I'm actually on the other end of that spectrum lol. I'm hoping for leaner dudes. I wouldn't mind if they were tall, but I wouldn't want them to be really big like highlanders.

While unlikely, it's always possible they use different mesh frames for the two races of Viera. If they're based off the existing lore, the more wild Viera match the ones I described, while the more domestic Viera, especially those who were born and lived in the cities, are leaner with smaller ears. I've stated that would please both audiences for the race, though given all the extra work that would take, I'd be surprised if that's what they actually do. We'll have to wait and see.....

Got to ask, have you done farming (let alone lawn or garden care)? As in dirt digging, weeding, trenching, planting, and etc? That stuff is physically intense work when its done manually. Your other examples could work, but I think this one falls a bit short. I think the idea of a simple farmer being some quaint person who puts on an apron and tends to the carrots in the flower garden is a fanciful idea of what one is rather than what simple farmers actually are.

But Anywyas, why dont we just have a split, you know like Hyur does? Bigger Viera are one sub race, smaller cuter being the other. Gives the maximum range for waht people want.

You want that Amazonian or semi buff/tall Spartan, theres one subrace for that, and you want the more cutesy/small versions, therell be another subrace. Works out for everyone with minor reservations here and there.

Lol I think people forget that even simple gardening is hard work. I have a bunch of container plants that feel like a full gym day after I'm done tending them.

I'm all for that kind of division. Makes more people happy and adds some fun variation to the races.

I don't think that picture of what is obviously a child, shown alongside another female child viera which was cropped out, will look anything like a male viera. According to what we've seen so far, they're rugged loners that are tempered by their time surviving in the wilds. The adult concept art is more similar to what I believe we'll see, perhaps with them having more long haired racial hairstyles being why they might be associated with lion manes.

I agree. How anyone can look at that art and not see the proposed child design of the race is beyond me. I know many would like a reverse of the Aura sexual dimorphism in regaerds to the genders. However it should be tempered if only a little. Those are children plain and simple. I can understand the appeal of neotenous features, I have campaigned for it before. Given the art that was showcased and the fact all but the Rogadyn have child models (who should never be made playable), i truly feel the adult color swap is what we are getting.

Because that's not what it was presented as. It was among other concept art and was proposed as Lalafellish version of Viera.

I think they were meant to be the smol bun concept. Small and cute does not equate to child every single time- Lalafell would not exist in this game if it did. We would know they were adults by how they acted rather than how they looked.

Like I said before I'm happy they're being added regardless, but I really want a Viera male option to be cute like the concept art. I'll be kind of disappointed if we get Male Highlander with bunny ears x2 since we already have enough tall and masculine options. Whether it's reverse Au Ra dimorphism or just a small clan, I don't care much. But I'd love to be shorter and leaner (around female Au Ra sized).

I am of this mind, they have the same structure as the miqo'te children.
And I want the dimorphism to be stronk woman and tender man, not grown woman and literal child.
