Some of the argumentation in this thread is absolutely, mind numbingly silly.

The game is already rated for Alchol and Tobacco and the PC's usage; or lack thereof, is not going to change that rating.

As to the comment of it affecting the ratings in other countries. Simple solution, don't release that emote in that/those country/ies.

Just because the rating states Alcohol and Tobacco, doesn't mean all applications of it will be allowed. It also states Blood and Violence. Should the game start having copious ammounts of blood and gory deaths?

Pretty sure they can't country-lock emotes on a version of the game that goes for every country except China and Korea. Maybe putting it on Mogstation but that would be another can of worms.

That's a bad comparison as there is a different rating for excessive amount of blood. There's Blood and then there's also Blood and Gore, which excessive amounts would fall under the Blood and Gore category.

In the ESRB rating system there is Alcohol/Drug/Tobacco Reference and then there is Alcohol/Drug/Tobacco Use. The game is already under the 'Use' category for Alcohol and Tobacco.

However, if they changed it to heavier Drug/Alcohol use I could see it possibly changing, but not general smoking/vaping. The game's rating isn't going to shift from T to M just because of smoking as people are trying to imply. At least not here in the US.
