I do not feel that job restricted armor need be removed. In saying that, i think more armor options need to be introduced via IN GAME REWARDS for both genders and all classes. Some gear i would enjoy having as in game rewards for Stormblood completion.
The fact it has been scaled for female models in game is heartening.
Lastly to keep with the Stormblood theme i feel this should also be a reward for both genders and all jobs, again as an IN GAME REWARD.
I strongly believe that it can be faithfully remodeled for males.
An example from an another game Tera Online Male Castanic Caster sets.

Looking at healer gear on the marketboard, it seems that most pieces which start out white (which is NOT everything) will usually dye the white part to the selected colour and the other coloured parts to a different shade. Sometimes that shade is still white-ish. But it's not everything.
And in defence of the Skallic gear, which Transient_Shadow called out specifically for keeping the white parts undyed... it does that for other classes too, not just the healer gear. I'm not sure about everything, but the aiming/striking sets definitely have the same design with a permanently white coat and dyeable highlights.
Recurring theme colours are not just a thing for healers. Casters are often black-and-magenta. Dragoons get purple - even when it doesn't match the rest of the set colour scheme, like the 4.5 dungeon gear.
There are definite stylistic themes for all the classes, and a majority of gear follows those styles - but at the same time each class gets opportunities for gear that breaks out of it and looks different. They're just not as common as the pieces that follow their job-identity concepts.
And, as I said in an earlier post, if you don't like any of the class-specific gear there is also the Lv1 glamour gear that you can use instead (or in combination with class gear), and it extends your options a lot.
To be clear: I would also love to see the existing restrictions relaxed. I wouldn't even argue against people saying our options for other styles are limited. But even in the current system, healers don't have "nothing but robes" or "nothing but undyeable white", and it only takes a brief look at the marketboard to see that there are other options.

Ugh...It's so frustrating seeing stuff like this. Plus who asked for accessory restrictions to be lifted? 90% of the time, they're covered anyway.Well, since this is a fairly relevant thread for it, during one of Yoshi-P's server visit Q&A bombs, this question came up:
Q. Will you ever remove the class limitations on glamour gear? My accessory slots are full.
A. We still don't have plans on removing class restrictions, but it might be time we should at least remove the restrictions on accessories.
What's even more frustrating is that fact that people still aren't asking the right questions when it comes to this topic. It's always, "will job specific glamour restrictions ever be removed?" which Yoshi straight-up says no and ends it at that.
I would ask why has the dev team been so adamant on NOT removing job specific glamor on non-AF gear when a large majority of SB armor sets have been recolored variants of gear from other jobs? Wouldn't it be easier to just remove the restriction instead of using that man power to create a whole new set of already existing armor?
Or...You've mentioned the fact of wanting to retain job originality by restricting glamour to specific jobs but when tanks are running around in bikinis, Dragoons are able to wear robes...Why hasn't the non-AF glamour restriction been removed when it's been something that's been requested for YEARS!
I feel like we really need to dive a bit deeper when it comes to this question instead of just asking the usual since Yoshi likes to avoid it. I would honestly like a reason as to why he keeps ignoring it.
I didn't know the griffon gear was equippable. Where can one obtain that? That would be awesome for my DRK.

The simple answer to the first one is that it lets them recycle models for speedier development time; even if they unlocked every glamour restriction there's an extremely high chance they'd still be recycling old gear models to save development times and costs when they felt like it or were running out of time for a patch. Porting existing armors takes a fraction of the time and effort designing entirely new set fo every role would.I would ask why has the dev team been so adamant on NOT removing job specific glamor on non-AF gear when a large majority of SB armor sets have been recolored variants of gear from other jobs? While not a 1:1 comparison, the game company I used to work at would take the same rock & tree models and recycle them ad nauseaum, using weather/lighting/very light 3d/texture edits to disguise the fact they copy-pasted their terrain assets like mad.
As far as the griffon gear, it's not possible in-game. Whoever took the screenshot is using dark magic to equip it.

While we're at it, mapping hairstyles to specific glamour plates is really needed as well. It's annoying when you switch sets and your hair starts clipping through your armor...
I want so BADLY put Aura males class gear on my male M'qoute. So I want class and race restrictions gone lol
Does it have to do with clipping? Like they design a set of armor around the physical movements of the class, I know it sounds stupid but it's a level of detail I would include when designing armor and if it wasnt there I imagine people wouldn't outright notice but subconsciously they would know it's not as polished.

I suspect that swapping hairstyles might be quite different at an underlying level to swapping glamours - note that when you change it you're essentially "taking yourself out of the game world" to go into editing mode, and there are a few unskippable cutscenes that probably disguise save/load processes.
It might not be able to switch as seamlessly as gear - it may need to save character data to some other location and do odd things to your character in the meanwhile.
I don't think this would be the case - at very least you can go into other classes' basic stances in the "fitting room" menu by equipping/drawing a weapon.Does it have to do with clipping? It's more likely to be a job identity thing. (I still think it's quite possible that it's specifically to lock down job-specific artifact glamours within what their system can do, even if they'd be happy to let other gear be cross-glamoured.)

i would agree with this but not fully job theme outfits like summoner horn needs to be locked in that job outside that id agree
