FFXIV isn't in anywhere near as dire a situation as WoW. The developers have clear passion for FFXIV and have been pretty open and honest about being fine with players taking a break every now and then so that they can play other games.

The arguments against the Mog Station are deceptive, too. Most of the items added there are rewards from previous seasonal events and items brought over from the Korean and Chinese servers by popular request. They're designed specifically for the Mog Station in those regions, so getting them for free here wouldn't make much sense.

Is this to imply the team behind WoW didn't have a clear passion for the game? Because it did. Corporate interest crept in over time, the passionate people started to have their hands tied and eventually left, and WoW got to where it is. You don't build Battle for Azeroth in a day.

The arguments for the Mog Station aren't all the same, and basically everyone has already agreed that the import items having a fee attached is fine. I don't believe anyone is complaining about the Mog Station because they're being cheap. Many of us just don't want to see the last 4 years of WoW happen here, and once that train has started it haven't brakes.
