You're good at the game? You're an elitist.
You're using a parser to better yourself? Elitist.
You're making suggestions on how someone can improve themselves? E l i t i s t.
You wipe a farm party constantly but you're having fun playing your way. Nah you're fine dude.
This community astounds me at times.
KH collab is happening in FFBE right now, and Xenogears collab has happened in JP already and will be within the next few months for NA, which really should be a great example of the game utilizing all the IPs they have available for this exact type of thing. They have even done Tomb Raider, Just Cause, and Deus Ex. They could have just stuck to FF as they have plenty to pull from but the fact is they reached out to their other IPs.Call me a grump if you want, but I hate gatcha games and I think there are better collab opportunities out there. There's been hints and mentions of an XV collab (which was a super disappointing game but I'll happily take hairstyles, weapons, and outfits from it), there could be a KH collab... in my wildest dreams maybe a Xenogears collab... so many possibilites without resorting to a phone game of all things.
That's the exact kind of reason FFXIV should bring over something like FFBE, not only does it promote both games but it is still in fact a FF at it's core with an actual story. Yokai Watch and Garo were so far out in left field that it really makes me question things when they have their own IPs they could use.
FFBE is more than deserving of it, especially compared to Xenogears which I absolutely love but I am sure FFBE has become far more successful. It just makes a lot more sense. FFXV is a given and quite honestly they have waited too long. Nier Automata would've been another good one but the hype has passed for that as well. Meanwhile FFBE is an ongoing thing like I said, so it would always be relevant at least for a few more years.
I'm not going to completely defend all their business practices but they are usually more than generous when it comes to FFBE. I am strictly a F2P player and have never felt limited by my decision to not spend money.
I have a ton of units, even 7 stars, and even some STMRs at this point. Not only do I have multiple 7stars, I have units now available that I could 7star but just don't feel like it cause I don't "need" them. They also have the summon select thing where you get to pick what 5star unit you want after you collect 10, which up to this point we've gotten 20-31 of them to be able to pick out 2-3 units of your choice just for playing and doing content.
Talking about how much lapis they give daily is meaningless considering all the other rewards they give out as login bonuses. I have over 300 regular tickets saved up just waiting for whatever I feel like and yet I've still been able to pull a lot of useful units as I felt they were needed. So you are severely underestimating how much is given out.
I would've questioned how much you actually played the game but you did bring up season 2 and 7stars so you should've known these things already so I don't know if maybe you didn't play it much but followed along with it or just don't realize how much they've given out.
There are plenty of people who do budget guides and someone is even doing trials using only Medius as the units which is a rather bad unit compared to what anyone else would use for a party.
So I'll just say a lot of what you are talking about I would strongly disagree with.
Let's not forget to add in that due to the criticism that exploded after the Valkyrie Profile crossover (I still have my Gungnir sharpened and sitting in my closet waiting for the next screw up), one can't deny that they've made some incredible amends. The fan festa when they brought Kate Perry in was incredibly nice and they are giving us so many rewards right now - the equivalent of three guaranteed 5 star summons and about 30 free summons within a week...that is extremely generous for this company.
