Gunblade job must be a DPS.

In every FF game gunblade jobs looks pretty different from each other, look at squall and lightning both use gunblades but they combat style is complete different, squall use more heavy swings and heavy fireshots and lightning is more matrix style and fire his weapon like she is using a handgun compared to squall, they only share the gunblade, in this game they are represent more squall archetype and wear heavy armour all around.

And no, is not about quetimes, is about expanding the tank and healing choices like DD since tanks and healers mains are human beings that deserve have they fun expanded too.

As you wrote yourself, they have never really been weapons for tanks before.
For me its ONLY about quetimes except a new tank and/or healer would be enjoyable to play. Lets just imagine every new class would be a dps, the quetimes for everyone that doesn't play tank or healer would explode because everyone would suddenly play these two new dps classes. So alone because of this we should get at least a tank or a healer, best would be both. No need to start with this "tanks and healer mains are human beeings" because thats quite obvious and has nothing to do with what i wrote.

I wonder what the forums would look like if we get two DD again, vs a tank and a healer. I feel we'll get a tank and a healer because Blue Mage is sort of a red headed step child DD. So we /sort of/ will get all three at Stormblood release.

No. I can't. If I am on tank and my queue time is longer than instant, I drop queue and swap to DPS.

Given how many people in my FC refuse to even unlock tank and healer jobs because "they're boring and dumb" I'm pretty sure the queue times will be fine, just full of salty DPS who are upset that they weren't catered to this expac.

Eh...I hope that you understand the fact that for tanks/healers to have any sizable queue time, the DPS need to be instant, right?! Do you seriously think that DPS will be so outnumbered that their queue will go for 10-30 minutes to 0?! Seriously?!

If anything, if the gunblade will be a tank and it will cause a significant change in queue, then it will reduce the DPS queue time while having zero effect on tank and healer queue. Alternative either healer or tank will have to wait for a minute max, not because of DPS but because the other new class just wouldn't be good enough to compare with Gunblade in its own category.

So yeah...

PS: Tanks and healers still have queues...sometimes. In certain roulettes or for specific dungeons.
