I decided to do some dog farming this morning, so I join a group for Byakko because ugh, I want to get his out of the way (58 runs, btw). We get a lucky BLM that has 3 whistles drop in the span of 6 runs (so 3 people got mounts—including myself YAY!!!!). Things are going rather smoothly, but one run hits a snag. People start dying left and right—eventually it’s just me up (on AST), with two SAMs and my cohealer. My cohealer eats the tankbuster to the face, so they go down. I’m stuck with no Swiftcast and no Lightspeed to raise, and one guy is like:

“Healer, LB.”

We had LB1.


I was like “Uh, that won’t raise people though.” The response was “Well, by the time you guys wiped it was LB2.” I said, “That won’t raise people either—it has to be LB3 to raise.” His reply was, “It will keep them alive.” I was like “With no Swift, both tanks down, and my cohealer dead, we were dead regardless. It’s just a waste of an LB tbh.”

At least I beat them for the mount.

Lazy bum tank playing silly buggers

To be fair, right side gear don't really matter all that much pre-50, though she should still have at least had a second ring equipped even if it doesn't do much.

There is absolutely no excuse for the left side however, for shame.


As for paladins spamming Clemency, i tend to do that myself if the healer let's me drop below 40% or so, i get rather nervous if i reach that point and no heals appear to be forthcoming.

Expert roulette last night in The Burn. I went as WHM, and got matched with a PLD, SAM and DRG. PLD was doing the standard pulls there, but things took forever to die. I noticed all three still had full tp after the first pull, and politely asked them all to use AOE skills. No reply. Every pull went the same. I was Holying my heart out, but always had to stop long before things were dead, lest I run out of mp. I paid very close attention to the party list after that. Noticed the DRG never used Heavy Thrust, and the PLD rarely used defensive cooldowns. So again, I politely asked them both to use the aforementioned skills. Again, no reply, and again nothing changed. We finally got to the last boss after 25 minutes, where they proceeded to heed my advice, finally. Aoe skills by all on the boss, Heavy Thrust constantly up, and all defensive cooldowns by the tank. Seem like they did this to spite me. It took forever to kill it. You know how it spams that AOE skill after it does a couple dashes across the arena? Well it did it at least a dozen times. But we survived and killed it, finally. The weirdest part of all? I got all 3 comms. I know they were probably a premade trio, but still... I figured they hated me!

This one had me dying. Literally.

I queued Mentor (because I like to hurt myself) and got Ramuh Ex. Of course. we wiped because it's Ramuh Ex in Duty Finder. But the thing was, the tanks were one of the main reasons we wiped. Both were in shield oath the entire time. Both went and grabbed orbs to have surge protection. Both fought for aggro the entire time. And when one finally died, the other was on the other side and cleaved the healers with the tank buster.

One of the healers pointed out to them that both were wanting to be the main tank and neither were doing anything about it. After mentioning that, neither were in shield, neither kept aggro at all, and neither grabbed orbs for Surge Protection and the first person to die that round was a healer.

that was a vote abandon, but the funny part was how I imagined it in my head as them talking at the same time and fighting over who was main tank, but when both of them wanted to be main tank both gave up and let the other tank, without telling the other so neither were tanking the boss.

Honestly, I thought it was funny. I'm not sure how funny it will be to others, but I had a riot.

I joined 50-60 Roulette as PLD and it put me at Sastasha (Hard). I had a WHM and 2 SAMs as my other party members. Run went as most usual attempts.

During this run, I planned to stun-lock the First Mate dude before the final boss fight so he wouldn't use Holmgang near death. When I exhausted all the available stuns before stun resistance, he was near 0 HP, so the next Holmgang he casts on one of my teammates would eventually make him unable to die for a few seconds.

However, despite the holmgang coming out and successfully binding another party member, our dps was high enough so that the First Mate dies before the "unable to die" part kicked in during Holmgang. Beating server ticks FTW I guess.

Some friends/FCs will do random things in DF for fun. Well, their fun. So you may have been a part of that, and given the comms for being a good sport.

Well then perhaps say that instead of making snarky comments about not standing in AoEs? That's why they started "chewing you out", not just because you said to use Defiance.

Honestly you don't come off as seeming "in the right" from that transcript. Neither does the other person, but it makes you sound just as unpleasant.

And what "threats" are you seeing? I'm pretty sure "threats" in the ToS would be referring to actual threatening harm against a person, not threatening to kick you from the dungeon.

That's wrong on two fronts. 1 threatening to report someone if they don't do what you want to, when they haven't done anything to deserve being reported is abuse of the reporting system and 2 forcing them to vote someone out is abuse of the vote system. Both violate the TOS.
Yea saying to someone you forgot defiance makes me sound like a jerk to some of you I'm sure. Telling them to submit a "recording" after they threaten to makes me sound like a jerk to some of you too I'm sure. Yet here's the rub I didn't start it and I only gave as good as I got. So Honestly I don't care if I came off as a jerk I didn't violate TOS she did.

I do though, when I have Excog just sitting there being wasted while they could be using Total Eclipse and actual CDs instead of Clemency spam, it's just a waste plain and simple.

I did Mentor Roulette as a final hurrah for Christmas (i'm a masochist) and instead I got the literal Grinch for a tank in Keeper of the Lake, this tank was a mean one and as cuddly as a cactus since he que'd with his gf (he told us this as the barrier dropped "hey guys running with my girlfriend don't give her any crap". I was like uh okay sure hi, I was healing, 2 DPS was a BRD and a BLM, tank was a PLD, we pull and I notice the BLM, the guys gf I guess, just using Blizzard 1-2 and spamming single target Thunder, oh boy.

I tell her "hey can you use Fire II and Flares when you can" she says she never unlocked Flare so I tell her fine use Fire II, the tank gets upset and tells me to be quiet he's telling his gf how to play BLM as they play side by side, I tell em well maybe you should tell her how to use a proper rotation because if you won't I got time. The PLD gets more angry and tells me to shut up the BLM actually stops and asks me for more pointers but the tank keeps pulling and saying don't listen to Awful I'll tell you how to play later, BLM says no I wanna learn now so I wanna hear what the SCH has to say.

I explain how to do BLM AoE minus Flare but explained that you use convert to get your MP back when you get Flare to do X2 Flare and if you have a mana pot X3 Flare, told her to use AoE Thunder and Fire II and she picked it up really well! I was glad that the took the advice and told them to not use Transpose just use Blizz III to go back into Fire etc, the PLD makes comments like we got this we don't need you explaining, holy crap this is taking forever, I'm just like dude chill.

After second boss...I get kicked, dunno why I wasn't being rude but the tank before I left said "enjoy your kick thanks for wasting our time " like that's real great man thank you for kicking me for helping someone I enjoy helping people but he wasn't having any of it, honestly made me feel like crap for helping a sprout with this PLD who didn't perform well at all, literally no CDs and kept moving mobs out of my Shadow Flare, yelling for heals, and was lvl 69, ugh I'm done venting time to relax for the holidays!

Seriously - wtf. If my wife is getting advice from somebody on how to play and asks me to hold on the pulls, I'd be "sure thing, take your time hun". This guy, just.... wow.
