Continuing the theme of tanks with "wtf" gear- I queued for leveling roulette as healer the other day and got Sastasha normal with 2 sprout dps and a returner tank. Well, I figured I was going to be bored the whole run and spend most of my time dps'ing but nope! Tank pulled and immediately started taking large chunks of damage, even from basic, one-pack trash pulls. I was having to throw a heal on her every other GCD for just trash and on bosses it was risky to even wait that long. Curious, I took a closer look at the party list and realized that the tank had the lowest HP of the entire party... by a significant amount (for that level.) :


Yeesh, so I inspected her to check out her gear:

That's right, only one ring and no belt! All her accessories were level 1 (though the ring she did have on was at least the Hall of Novice reward which is good for several levels) and her left side armor was all level 5 except for her boots and pants. Even after she won the need roll on a tank belt off one of the bosses, she didn't equip it. At least she had the level 15 weapon so she didn't have too much trouble keeping aggro (when she bothered to pick up the mobs which was around 80-85% of the time.)

She was a returner but I thought maybe she was new to tanking and considered saying something to her. Before I stuck my neck out though (goodness knows that "you don't pay my sub!" players can be quick to snap at the slightest provocation) I decided to view her details to confirm she was just inexperienced. Boy, am I glad I did:

Three 70s, including a tank job. There's just no excuse for this beyond laziness.

Now, I know this is only Sastasha and a naked caster could probably tank it with a half-awake healer. With both dps being sprouts and me not being able to contribute as much damage, the only major downside to the run is it took way longer than it honestly should have. It just surprised me to see someone who should obviously know better completely half-a** their job to this extreme.

Literally every time I do alliance raid roulette I get Labyrinth of the Ancients, and every time during the Atomos fight no one ever knows what to do. I can understand a new person not knowing, but there's rarely new people. I feel compelled to remind everyone to keep 4 people on the platforms because somehow these people can have every class at 70 and don't know how to do that fight. How do you get so far and screw up something so simple.

Just because someone isn't "new" to the game doesn't mean they've done all the content. You don't have to do an Alliance raid to level up so there's little reason to have gone in there outside of curiosity. I've never been in Labyrinth of the Ancients myself yet I have 8 combat jobs to 70.

On the other hand, at whatever point I do decide to do it I will look up guides in advance to have some idea of what to expect. Most players won't bother.

Expert, me WHM had a PLD tank that used Clemency every time his HP dropped to ~75%

Ah the classic PLD that Clemencies throughout the whole dungeon even when you tell em "stop using it" they just keep on spamming it, I had one that would use: Circle of Scorn > Flash X2 > Clemency forever not even any tank CDs or anything, I really don't get those kinda PLDs it's like they're telling you they're useful by healing themselves.

While turning all of my oGCD heals into 100% overheals. I've had a paladin do that before. I have skills to let paladins dps too so perhaps they should take advantage of it.

I don't know why but in O 10, I always get the worst kinds of people:

-Tanks who constantly fight for aggro and don't use CD.
-Healers who either waste the LB 3 on 2 dead DPS or don't use it when only 1 healer and 1 tank remain for example.
-People who are new to the fight. I don't mind it but I wonder how you can be new to the fight and not know what a freaking stack marker is!

My first ever alliance raid tbh was the Ivalice raids and then I worked my way back to the Crystal Tower and Mhachi alliance raids

That said even when I was new back when I did them I was properly geared and all I had to do is ask about mechanics and I was all good

I die a little inside every time I see a PLD use clemency when I have excog up on them. :'(

Yeah, tank seemed like a jerk. But they had a point about not casting regen pre-pull. I don't even try to argue with healers about it anymore, I just click it off whenever I see it between trash packs.

Also SE won't do anything about either reports from that group. In that regard, you were both being petty and wasting GMs' time. In bad groups like this it's best to either just vote them out or leave; trying to get GMs to play referee to pointless, trivial squabbles is immature and just gums up the system for people trying to report actual issues.

Actually making threats is against TOS. And I didnt regen her the regen was from the previous pull. But you're right they probably wont do anything about it.

Well then perhaps say that instead of making snarky comments about not standing in AoEs? That's why they started "chewing you out", not just because you said to use Defiance.

Honestly you don't come off as seeming "in the right" from that transcript. Neither does the other person, but it makes you sound just as unpleasant.

And what "threats" are you seeing? I'm pretty sure "threats" in the ToS would be referring to actual threatening harm against a person, not threatening to kick you from the dungeon.
