Truth be told. There's always going to be someone trying to keep the fight going because the fight is more interesting than unification. It's perfectly fine to be excited for what we are getting. At the same point in time you can be excited for what we are getting and upset, angry, resentful, or whatever else for what we are not getting. As Jon has said probably more times than he or I care to recount. It did not and does not have to be one or the other.
I admit to being more confused than before after this last live letter about the importance of the limited system. That doesn't mean I outright hate the idea, there are some aspects where it alleviated certain fears that people had brought up, The fact that they are already planned out to a lvl 60 idea is reassuring that they do intend to stand by and update the content which is a very good thing, but looking at the collective information. It would appear that they are putting more work into making BLU fit into this limited system than the amount of work it would have taken to make it a standard DoM job. I don't understand the entirety of a new damage calculation to facilitate BLU primarily.
I get the no set rotation and the tank stance as a likely desire to prevent a multi role job in end game content given that... a multi role job would be.... tricky at best to balance amongst the other jobs, and there would be a number of issues ((ensuring that you can't just swap out in the middle of a dungeon or something or hybrid builds that can completely negate a fight's mechanics or make exploits a lot more viable.) negating either of these issues or the litany of others would be incredibly time and resource consuming, and a likely nightmare from a programmer's perspective, but a standard DoM job certainly seems do-able.
Side note pointing out that I see doesn't mean that I think that the balancing efforts detailed below would take any less time or any longer time than damage recalculations throughout the entirety of the early half of the game, or a number of other odd design choices made.
