PLEASE. The Bio/Miasma III for SMN was such a relief.

I'm also keen to change Scholar into a stand alone job, with its own XP pool, and its own rotation. I would keep it as a beefy DPS healer, with a fairy and shields but I would actually get rid of Shadow Flare / Miasma II, rework its core DoTs and add more actions around these DoTs (and to use that bloody fairy gauge).

They could copy some spells ideas from XI's SCH. They can give SCH "Helix" spells for DoT instead of the poison-themed spells they currently have. Their Aetherflow could be called Sublimation, Energy Drain could be renamed to Aspir, Bane could be Meltdown. Modus Veritas, which could halve the duration of your debuffs on the target, but double the potency (perfect to use before spreading them AoE). Embrava could be an AoE melee haste buff.

Nope. Those animations are indicative of this job and the SMN job branching from the same tree. Many peeps including the devs themselves see the branch system as a flawed design, but do not see that eliminating the attribute allocations totally fixed it. They could do even more branched jobs now, but because they want to abandon the class system, this won't happen. Bad move imo.

After acquiring their respective soulstones, SCH and SMN separate completely. There is nothing left to identify these two jobs as similar other than their class abilities because their job abilities are as alike as night and day. One favors damage, the other favors support. Their summons also work in contrast to one another.

I can't speak for SMN, but SCH needs the least amount of help right now. It continues to rein at the top of the mountain hill so long as it is played optimally.

They're not asking for buffs insomuch as they are asking for some nice animations.
Scholar's animations are almost unarguably the least visually pleasing of all the jobs in the game, and it doesn't surprise me that people want to see changes to the animations of Scholar's core skills.

I wasn't asking for buffs. I'm just asking for some minor cosmetic face lifts / qol for sch. I agree sch is powerful. But its still a little wonky

I doubt Miasma will get a name change with Miasma II unless it gets one too, but Bio to something with Nymian origin for the name just for SCH like Ruin became Broil I definitely see as a possibility and easily able to work into the quests.

Now why couldn't I fail that job quest and walk around the open world as a Tomberry to get the curse removed and then try the quest again? That would have been fun! Actually... DOT that turns opponents into Tomberrys for 20 seconds could be very cool even if it just added a little more damage vulnerability to them beyond what Bio 2 does!

I don't think harnessing the power of a voidsent fits the description of a scholar all that well DX

The only thing that matters now, is tha Scholars get Meltdown. We already got "Libra", so give us another Pseudo-traditional spell, lol.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

I wouldnt be surprised we'll get tgose next xpac. Our core spell have already reached the -ja (IV) rank which is usually the last one (when it exists). Job such as BLM and Summoner might get traits to enhance those、but healer Dots usually are stuck at lower rank so it wouldn't be surprising at all to get enhanced DoT for healers.

I would 100% support a Tonberry-based transformation form for SCH. Especially if it let you keep your character's associated racial features (Horns, Cat/Rabbit ears, etc.)
