Well the op hasn't responded since, I wonder if they found it.

Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!
We apologize for any inconvenience that has occurred when playing Final Fantasy XIV. Unfortunately the issue you are describing is not a technical issue. I will be moving this thread to "General Discussion".
Hope to see you online!
How is this NOT technical issue? Solved or not at this point, this has been poorly handled.

.-. Screenshot too small to make out anything to even attempt to help.

Well, that's embarrassing and thank you.
Most I could suggest is having the GMs see where the item went via ticketing. From the screenshot provided, you got the item - meaning it makes sense your issue isn't technical; the system didn't fail on its end that is readily discern-able (different teams handle different things). Time of fight clear, the name of item, date, etc (a lot of which is shown on the screenshot already) included will help speed up looking for the item, but it still make take time to see where the item in question went definitively.

Indeed, I don't know either. I should say I meant using it generally i.e. any items it wont show the difference in the chat log but it does in the Item search list. Also I'm sure it was showing the "saddlebag" before but for some reason it doesn't now.I tested this before I replied: I took 1 of my Alphascape 4.0 Datalogs (I currently have 2) and placed it in my Saddlebag; I left the other in my Inventory. After using iSearch, in the expanded menu for it, it listed 1 of my Datalogs in my Inventory (in Block 3), and 1 in my Saddlebag. Even said that 1 was in my Inventory and 1 in my Saddlebag in the chatbox, so I don’t know what to tell you.
EDIT: Screenshot
Steps:
1. /isearch datalog
2. Right-click “Alphascape 4.0 Datalog”
3. Click “Search for Item”
4. That’s the result I was given
So they’re differentiating for me, and always have. Don’t know why it won’t for you.
