You can't know it's a garbage fire because you have not tried it, how about you come back to say this after having tried the class, instead of spouting "facts" in your head. Dear lord. There is nothing to try. The fact of that matter is that it cannot be used in all other job content. That is a fact. No amount of running the Masked Carnival or grinding every BLU ability is going to change that. Literally only outrage will.

I'm not trying to take away the mechanics of BLU, I'm fighting for it's ability to become a real job. I'm not trying to take anything away from anyone. I simply want to improve this broken concept.

So how about you take your own advice there? I want everyone to be happy. You're fighting for people to be miserable because you're content with mediocrity.

I didn't realize discussing something coming to the game on the game's forum is abusing said forum.

So the people that were asking for samurai and red mage were wrong to ask for it because they wanted to main them? There will be 17 jobs in the game this summer but none of them can use blue magic in the current content. There's nothing wrong with us asking for blue mage to be available in the full game as a job in the 6.0 expac. Not everyone will agree with that just as not everyone would agree with what new jobs there should be in that expac.

There are definitely people on our side that are being too negative and saying things I don't agree with but don't act like there isn't a lot of us asking for SE to give both sides what we want. It is possible to have open world and solo content without limited jobs.

Don't like it? Stay off the forums. The only reason I bothered to sign up for these forums was to show my displeasure with BLU until it's fixed. So that's what I'm going to do.

I’d say this is crossing the line. Telling people to just accept the job they have waited years for as something they can’t main just because there are other jobs. So people should just stop asking for the jobs they want to see in the game because they want to main that job then?

Remember, there are people like myself and this person on our side that don’t want the CONTENT to be removed.

I prefer to not think of it as two sides that are in opposition to each other, even if that is the harsh reality of the situation. I would prefer to see players working together on this.

If I had to state my stance, it's in opposition to Limited Jobs, but I say that because I believe just about everything there is to like about Limited Jobs, such as an emphasis on solo capability, a new solo instance, a unique way to acquire actions, and branching beyond the established cookie-cutter formula, all of that can coexist alongside a job that is balanced for end game. That is what I believe. I won't argue that balancing a job like that would be easy, but I don't regard it as an impossible task.

So that is my stance. For those that like Limited Jobs, I don't want the good things about it to be taken away. I just want those who wish to see Blue Mage as a balanced job that can access all content to get what they want too. It won't be an easy feat. It's not a goal that can be achieved in the near future, but it's what we should strive for.

There seems to be this fear that, in order for Blue Mage to be compatible with all aspects of FFXIV, it would necessitate stripping everything away until it is nothing more than a reskin of Black Mage. But let's think about this for a moment. Would that actually happen?

Firstly, SE has put a lot of work into Blue Mage. They've finally stepped beyond their usual formula to present something that is truly unique. They are likely proud of what they have created. And then there's the likelihood of positive reception (pertaining to Blue Mage specifically). I'll be optimistic in saying that I think a lot of players will enjoy Blue Mage. Myself included.

We're left with a product that SE is happy about that also makes fans happy, but there's still a portion of the community that is adamantly upset that Blue Mage is restricted from participating in a variety of content. Myself included. Would SE seriously scrap everything they have created, upsetting happy fans in the process, just to appease a certain portion of the community? Of course not. If they push for compatibility, they will do so while retaining as much about Blue Mage as they can.

But no, the point I'm trying to make here isn't, "if SE would rather not change Blue Mage, why should they bother changing it all?" That isn't what I'm trying to say. My point is that, if SE were to adjust Blue Mage so that it can be compatible with the full game, people shouldn't be afraid of that. What you love about Blue Mage, and all of SE's hard work, won't be thrown out the window. Yes, some things would have to change, but the essence of everything fans like about the job would still be there.

What I'm discussing here is the improbability that SE will make sweeping, dramatic changes that break the foundation they have created. Which leaves us with two options. Either making Blue Mage compatible with the full game is something they simply can't do, or SE will find a solution that keeps fans of the existing concept happy. In which case... why even have this debate? If fans of the existing concept have nothing to lose, why not support those who wish to see Blue Mage gain access to all content?
