SE: Can we get back skip cutscene in Main Scenarios?

I don't mind. The CS are always awesome and my miqote always look amazing in them. Lol The music is amazing too. But if i feel not to watch them, i just watch youtube on my phone. And I'm happy new players can enjoy the CS without being left behind. Patience is a virtue too. You can level up each day too and get 50 highest tomes.

Doing this roulette I'm fairly aware of the problem we can feel. But I made up my mind and deal with it. We are not obliged to watch, to read or to listen the cinematic. I... just do something else (as reading news).

If really I would fed up with it, considering it as a pain, I would just give up doing this roulette, there are other ways to do tomes, then...

My problem is another one : the synchro between characters. The delay for loading players is weird. It takes sometimes up to ten second to have all people gathered, is it the servers or the network... could not tell. I notice there is similar problem with guildhests.

PS : Frankly speaking, I consider this roulette as the "lazy levelling roulette" and use it that way, watching cinematics is the counterpart I have to pay. I will not complain considering I can play lazy thanks to this roulette

That's irrelevant to the discussion at hand. Nobody is forcing you to wake up on the morning, nobody is forcing you to play ffxiv, nobody is forcing you to go work, etc

What is relevant is that the game design of some instances is screwed and needs to be fixed. When the CS's duration for a dungeon is 4 times longer than the effective gameplay time in said instance, then there is an issue.

Do you realize they locked the cinematics to allow new player to play the content? We got the exact opposite topic because of fast runners who were saying: "You want to watch cinematics, do it in the room!".

They changed there way of scripting story for later dungeons.

To change these dungeons they have only two way : rescripting everything, that will be a lost of ressources, or making it solo+IA, that will be a lost of ressource too.

Anyway, this content, for HL IS a lazy content. As mentor, never forget you can meet wipe and losing one hour and a half in a content (if it never happend to you, you didn't played this game enough, or you don't have patience and do rage-quit). And for roulette, this is really a content you can skip. If you play it anyway, assume when you want to play lazy.

I like the rewards so I still do them. It is unbearable to sit through though. It is absolutely necessary to be doing something else at the time. For yesterday's I was cooking dinner while I was in the duty.

"Some instances" being roughly 1% of the available group-based instanced content (counting all dungeons, trials, guildhests, and raids in the Regular Duty tab) in the game. Two instances out of approximately 190.

Clearly a major issue that must be fixed.

I mean, your own body is going to force you to wake up in the morning, if only to fulfill biological needs like food or using the bathroom. And your need for money to live is going to force you to go to work. Those are some pretty bad false equivalences.

You can make light of the issue if you want, but I still end up in those instances on that roulette sometimes, and as this thread itself shows, I'm pretty much outright attacked for admitting I'm unwilling to run those instances and that I will leave if I get them.

Today I learned that pointing out that signing up for the Mentor Roulette means that you are ostensibly agreeing to participate in whatever content it lands you in, and if you're not prepared to do so then you shouldn't be signing up for that roulette...

Dude, you're being criticized for complaining that your chasing of rewards as efficiently as possible isn't going according to your plan. You're not being attacked for it.

Except they are the 2 instances that always comes up in the story roulette. So yes, it is a major issue.

But they get to play the content. That's the issue here : you're not playing during a CS, and one may think that during a dungeon you should spend most of the time playing, not watching 1 hour of damn CS. Even back in the day, in 2013, when I first did these dungeons, I skipped the CS out of respect for the other players and watched them in the inn room. That is common courtesy, in order not to waste people's time : you don't need 7 other players to watch CS.

What I'm saying is you're never forced into something but you still do them even if you're not particularly happy about it.
