Theres really no need to change it. Its been doing its job. And the queues arent bad enough that would justify the change. ive been doing it every now and then when I have time to kill and it doesnt take nearly as long as any dps queue. Plus not having to listen to arguments or new ppl being screwed is very nice. Theres plenty of other ways to go about if you need tomes or leveling. Theres also not enough people that have issues with it that it will be changed
No. I love the way it is. It gives the new players the chance to appreciate the CS and the exp and tomes are worth it.
This will be my last post on this, but if you don't have enough time to do a long roulette don't run the duty that can put you in a long dutyAlas, I want the rewards that only come from doing the roulette. If it weren't for these things, I would happily ignore the roulette unless I was feeling bored.
Practically everyone doing any roulette is not doing it out of the kindness of their hearts, but rather for the rewards that they offer, and everyone also has their own limits as to how much they'll tolerate in terms of time expenditure and DF stupidity. I am no different in either of these regards. If I end up getting something where these limits are exceeded (or where I know they *will* be exceeded, such as when CM/Prae shows up, or yet another EX primal party where it's clear half the party went in blind + has no idea what to do + almost never listens to any directions you try to give anyway), it's well within my rights to choose to leave and eat the 30 minute penalty.
Mentors are not doormats; they're people too and they also value their time, just like you.
I think I can dictate for myself what is worth my time and what isn't without your sage guidance, thanks.
Oh boy, here we go again.
Considering how the main group that appear to be complaining the loudest about this change are the ones that are ending up in the duty without intentionally going into it, and the only group that fits that description is the mentors...
I'm not sure bringing up what mentors should/shouldn't expect when queuing for said roulette (ostensibly designed to help fill out queues and bring veteran players in contact with newer ones) is actually derailing this thread as much you'd think.
It isn't really a matter of "not having the time", it's more like I simply don't feel like doing a roulette run of something that can take me an hour (especially when, in the case of an EX trial, I still might not even get the win) when the vast majority of the time I will get something that would take me 20-30 minutes or less.This will be my last post on this, but if you don't have enough time to do a long roulette don't run the duty that can put you in a long duty
Also, as I already stated, I want the rewards that only come from doing this roulette, so your suggestion of "just don't do the roulette" is unacceptable.
If you have a problem with how I elect to do my roulettes, {That's too bad.}

At the end of the day, I use this roulette to help others go with the story and get tomes/exp with "less stress" (as Besame from this forum would put it.) I knew what I would sign up for and I make use of the gil, exp, and tomes whatever way I can.

It is fine as it is. It doesn't kill people to learn patience. All people KNOW there are cinematics. Don't tag if you don't agree with that. There are enough other ways to do tomes.
The issue here isn't about patience, it is about mental fortitude. Because being forced into watching all CS from praetorium over and over again is akin to torture. Even if it were only 15 min long it would still be horrible.
I mean, who put around 1 hour of CS into a damn dungeon ? That's the real question people should be asking.
