He can't be trusted tbh, say something then be like "I never said we wouldn't".Stop quoting Yoshi. His answers are always super misleading and are what got us into this mess in the first place. Remember his stance on 3 new jobs in a short space of time? Remember how almost everyone was adamant we would never see another job outside of an expansion?
At this point, taking Yoshida's word on anything is frankly, foolish.
"Adding Ninja end of ARR and 3 jobs in HW was so much work!"
2018: "But I never said we wouldn't do it again!"
The one bit of hope I'm holding onto is that maybe, because this is still a Job (even if a "limited" one), they'll feel pressured to make it good. So even if it launches as terribly unfun, they may actually put the effort into fixing and supporting it that they wouldn't for other side content like chocobo companions or Diadem.
I too, am late to the blu discussion, and when I first heard all this I couldn't help but relate back to my blu experience in final fantasy xi. Bare with me, for this might be long.
When blu was introduced to ffxi there were many who wanted to be blu, many who took it serious spending days learning spells disappearing from friends long nights fighting mobs backwards so that the mob could hit you enough in order to do the move you needed to learn.
Then there were some who were lazy and didn't want to find all the moves or didn't have access to areas to get certain moves were shunned, outcast, and damn near was responsible for giving blu's a bad name.
falls flat? limited is just a term.
keeping it out of said meaningful content leaves said content meaningful, and not just a blu fest.
this 100% or nothing mindset is as flawed as the blu is perfect and you should except it one.
Sorry on cell... For these reasons blu kinda had a period of soloness kinda like how ffxiv is kinda doing now with this 50 cap and slow leveling restrictions. It's almost like they are giving all serious blu extra time to learn all the moves they can then later once data shows this percentage of blu know this percentage of spells then they might light up on restrictions, but just like in ffxi it will be up to the ones playing blu that can change the way everyone including the developers think of the job the way its utilized and what proper tweaks can be applied to release them to the masses giving them more much needed time for balance.
I don't quite understand what you're getting at. Limited is a term used for a job that is limited in the ways it can be played. Be it exclusion from content, a level cap, or ability to access game features.
In running with your comment before this, where you even agreed:
If the job has access to the current level cap, and the current content, the job is no longer a "limited" job, and thus the idea falls flat.i agree with your point as blu could have started with a lvl 70 cap and just been unable to enter ex primals ultimate content and raids til shadowbringers to at least let you do everything you wanted also not letting blu into HOH or POTD seems odd as it would be blu true play ground.
with a higher lvl starting cap you could have at least had more content to enter and do with your friends and less welp i am out of luck have to change jobs.
why wouldn't it be limited? you are saying limited means lvl not content. if it was allowed to be lvl 70 it could do hunts and maps (which doesn't give you the best gear or break the ex primals life span and mount farming) it would still be limited. it would not be allowed to premake raids ex trials or the ultimates.
SE can easily make it so blu can't enter something even premade like a OOPS someone is a blu and so you can't enter. then remove it later when say the next expansion drops.
i mean will blu be able to do main story quests? or will they always be locked so you have to do them on another job always?

We're going in circles here. You concede a higher level cap, why not take the extra half step to include it in the rest of the current content which would drop the limited aspect of it.why wouldn't it be limited? you are saying limited means lvl not content. if it was allowed to be lvl 70 it could do hunts and maps (which doesn't give you the best gear or break the ex primals life span and mount farming) it would still be limited. it would not be allowed to premake raids ex trials or the ultimates.

The crux is that you're still being excluded and will eventually have to make that choice of "Do I play BLU or do I play with my friends?"
