It could be, i still feel like it's wasted potential if they can't remove it. I dont know their reasons for why they think it was a mistake but I imagine it probably has to do with the limited number of jobs that we would have to level if they continued doing this, where I dont feel like leveling a job in this is any real task anyways, that and if they wanted us to level jobs more they shouldn't be making new ones that all start at level 50.

Nha its more because balancing them is awfull since they share the same core they can't touch anything without messing the other. Rumor says they look for a way to separate them, other says they want all class to disapear in the end.It could be, i still feel like it's wasted potential if they can't remove it. They said it made Scholar and Summoner incredibly difficult to balance, which is why they funneled so many of their upgrades into the game itself to try getting around Arcanist. It could be, i still feel like it's wasted potential if they can't remove it. Originally yes, Archanis jobs were a mess because the stats were originally tailored by the player (which was by design I should add, they wanted players to pick between summoner and scholar originally) and the fact that the job stone equips weren't supposed to realign player stats, now however player stats are fused with the job and job stones alter stats themselves. It was the compromise they made and with the rigid system they currently have for stats they could easily do it again. I would really like to see them make it so we could swap in dungeons (although i won't hold my breath for this) for the sake of giving players the chance further optimize and adapt our play in them. Like for certain bosses swapping to full dps and burning him or all tank or 2 healer 2 dps, this could be incredibly fun and give them as developers a chance to change up how we proceed in dungeons or bosses.

The issue I see with that is people queuing as tanks and healers for fast queue and then changing to DPS and refusing to change back. But it would be an interesting option for preformed parties, alongside min ilvl and unsync. Besides, if they give more strategic options for preformed parties, it would encourage people actually "meeting" other players instead of simply using the matchmaking system...which would, in turn, make BLU less excluded.
Everything's connected !
Joke aside, if you think about it, the whole "no customization", "no special bonus", etc...comes from the "matchmaking should be fair for everyone". So, what if those options were available outside of matchmaking ? Sure, your job build might not be optimal, but it the PF only look for a clear without any sort of competitive aspect, it's not that big of a deal, in the end.

Absolutely! I can definitely appreciate matchmaking but it shouldn't be the be-all-end-all of an MMO, I know it's good for people who just dont have time to wait around for groups but really when it comes down to it MMO's require time and commitment no matter what, why not make systems that bank on that instead of easily capped weeklies.Joke aside, if you think about it, the whole "no customization", "no special bonus", etc...comes from the "matchmaking should be fair for everyone". This game... is not complicated at all.... they've dumbed down everything since ARR; resistances, stats, debuffs. This game doesn't have much varying utility.

If they couldn't separate them by SB they never will, also the stats issue WAS resolved because originally the problem was they couldn't separate the stats but now they can.
