Yeah let's wait until January to voice concerns! Then let's wait until 5.0 to voice our concerns! Then let's wait until 5.1! 5.2! 5.3! ...6.0! Don't worry guys, SE has never made a mistake and they always make needed adjustments super duper quickly. I mean, look at how fast Dark Knights and Machinists got their much-needed overhauls for Stormblood! Why, it only took... until Shadowbringers launch? Maybe?

I know, people often forget what was 1.0. If people didn't complain we wouldn't have this game. Shame complaints are considered as negative attention.

Complaints are great. They inform design. But complaining about something we don't even have yet seems premature.

It would be different if they said Bluemage is confirmed and didn't give us any info.

Here the only things we don't know for certain is what abilities can be learned and what does the carnival fully entail.
We know what is Blumage and how it functions and what it can and cannot do. We just don't know Numbers or how "op" the job is or its rotation. No one is complaining about the jobs rotation sucking like people have with other jobs before fully trying out said job. The issue is the concept of the job and how it will function when and not playing with people.

Agreed. Constructive complaints are great. Be specific about which aspects you don't like. Offer possible solutions, if you have ideas. Have a conversation.

"This sucks and I don't like it blah blah give me what I want" is not a complaint. It's whining. It does literally nothing but spread negativity and bring people down. I don't think anyone here has an issue with complaints. We have an issue with whining.

Saying you need to play it before judging is like saying don't criticize SB's initial iteration of WHM. While yes, testing it out will help, you can and should still give feedback.
Prime example of a constructive criticism. This an actual complaint that has a point to it. Some people wanted to main BLU and don't see a way they can based on the rollout, and that merits discussion and feedback. We have an actual instance of "this is how it negatively affects players" instead of just "I don't like it."

what about these complaints or whining isn't criticism? If people don't like a certain aspect change it. The one people are complaining is about it being locked form duty finder and raids. What can we else say to offer possible solutions? We just said the solution. Fix the job so people can use it in raids and duty finder. I understand your idea but this is one of those times the complaints is incredibly simple that the discussion doesn't even feel needed.

I see your point, and the only thing I disagree with is "discussion isn't needed." We absolutely need discussion, and specific critique, in order to prevent a possible fix from being awful, or even not getting what we specifically had issues with fixed.

Here's the thing, to pull back the curtain on my reasoning a bit. I work in a corporate office that fields complaints by the dozen every day. The people that just say "I don't like this" or "this sucks" often get ignored by the people fielding these as the assumed collateral damage for introducing something. "There'll always be complainers" "you can't please everyone" etc, etc.

But the people that have a thought-out critique where they tell us exactly what they don't like and how it affects them? Those people get paid attention to.

For example, you just specified the issue: let us use BLU in raids. That gives the team something to focus on. Solid critique, people want to use it in raids, and that's a valid point that should be examined.

We're not saying their complaints aren't criticism. We're saying it's the type of criticism that will go nowhere and get nothing accomplished.

    "BLU needs to be fixed."
Okay...what part? The raid part? The appearance? The method of learning skills?

Everyone has a right to voice a complaint if they're unhappy with a product. You're paying for it! You're not happy BLU can be used in raids, voice that concern! I just wish people would put some thought into it and help the team understand the exact issue as much as possible because that will lead to fixes and changes.

If someone have a specific vision of how BLU should operate in your head, that would alleviate that concern, they should share it during their criticism. For all anyone knows, they might have just the idea that will crack it and fix everything (no sarcasm). But that may never happen if someone limits their criticism to "I don't like it, it sucks, fix it."

We've said it a thousand times in other threads. This joke thread is for jokes and memes.

I didn’t complain. I actually like Red Mage. I guess since I never played 11 I didn’t have an expectation.

Never played Blumage in XI but I have played Gau and Strago in FFIII(yes I am that old and aware there is FFVI). Strago is the blumage, Gau while isn't learns abilities roughly the same. As well in FFVII, everyone who has Enemy Skill Materia is basically a Blumage.
I like every job in XIV. Some more than others. Yeah some have issues or had issues that makes me like them less than others but Blumage to me was a new job I get to play with my friends and randoms who could also be new friends from dungeons and raids.
instead that won't be the case here.
