Hear me out: Summoner.
I think SMN would have a LOT of potential as a Limited Job. Actual huge, impactul summons, with super impressive visuals. Keep that stuff in the overworld, and you can finally have that fantasy that people are asking for.

I agree, summoner could never work in group content. Summoners learn their, er, summons from beating the monsters and have a wide variety of them available at any time. Functionally, they're super-powerful, super-MP-expensive attacks that cause massive AoE damage to the point where they're usually the strongest attacks in the entire game outside of LBs, and allowing players to just spam those repeatedly like in FF4, 5, 7, 8, or 9 would break the game. You also had 10's version of summoner, where you essentially become a god and control the summon directly -- given that most of them were stronger than the party most of the time, it'd be super imbalanced to allow a Summoner into a raid when they could summon Bahamut and simply overpower any of the bosses. Heck in some versions they have summons who provide buffs to the party, or even heal! Man talk about not fitting into the trinity, that'd be like if they tried to implement Red Mage or Monk or Samurai or Dragoon or something silly lol.
Man, imagine if they DID add summoner into the game as a regular job. Nobody would play that version lol.
If someone wins an argument, they have learned nothing.
FOR DOCKHAND!
No...
They already have a solution and it's Demi-Bahamut. They just need more tweaks and more skills to him (tied to Aetherflow skills to keep it simple) and do all of that to the other 3 summons. They should also just do an overhaul to summoning already. The Egi is the biggest gripe of the job right now and it just needs to go.

Mostly this, but some adjustments.
I would add Calculator, Geomancer, and Mediator to the above list and remove Puppetmaster and Oracle.
Assuming the reasoning behind "limited jobs" is that their core gimmick is too powerful/complicated to work in to party play, I feel like puppetmaster could be made to work within the current system w/o losing too much of it's core identity. It would be watered down for sure, but simply having a Tank puppet, Melee DPS Puppet and Ranged DPS Puppet would make the job operate somewhat like SMN.
You'll have to explain your idea of how Oracle would work to me in this game, since Oracle is one of the least-defined classes within the Final Fantasy games. In FFV it has some elemental damage abilities, but in FFT it's all status effects.
So my adjusted list:
Beastmaster, Geomancer, Calculator, Mediator, Mime, Freelancer

They only need one Limited super whacky fun solo job: Onion Knight.
Lets you pull from any of the jobs abilities you've learned with ridiculously high primary stats, but obviously can't engage in endgame or group content because it would be too broken. Maybe even learns new skills from traditional games that are too broken to work in an MMO (like Death) depending on what job combinations you're rolling with. The idea of "way too broken to be in end-game content" pretty much is Onion Knight incarnate.
Any job besides that is a missed opportunity to fully enjoy that job in this fantastic MMO.

No no no, it'd have terrible stats until just before the level cap. When the level cap goes up, the stats drop until you get near the new level cap. They only need one Limited super whacky fun solo job: Onion Knight.

*gasp* Mime.
Give me Mime as a Limited Job. No way to make it work in a party, so let me Hunt with it. Pls.
