Ah, so that's that what it is called. I realised what it was doing right away, but could not remember the name. Someone gotta use /comfort.
I know but Ascians were always the big bad of the game, will we face sudden other big bad that come out of nowhere or will be just deal with normal villians on each country?
FF XI had its share of both "normal" villains and supernatural threats to existence as we know it, so same could work in XIV ,I'd say.
I don't think we will beat the Ascians now. Garleans sure, but not the Ascians.
We still have lots of questions but for me the most important one is, to quoth Vampire the Masquerade: Who is that girl?
She is in the trailer and on the artwork. So she has to be super important. Little Minfilia? Rule 63 Unukalhai? Garlean Empress/princess? Hydaelin forced into a fragile mortal body?
Going on with the Light surge thing...
Is there going to be a time skip, possibly?
Maybe it's Rielle. When I saw the artwork of a dark DRK on a dark horse holding a little girl in white I immediately figured it was totally Sidurgu on his way to punch more Moogles.
One of the doubts I'm having about this "become the Warrior of Darkness" plotline is that quite honestly, I don't see how our actions have caused our dimension to come anywhere close to falling to a Flood of Light. So if there is a risk, it would be due to writer fiat.
And that worries me, because despite all the claims of "light is not always good, dark is not always bad", all we have to do is look at what the Ascians are doing, compared to what we do. If "balance" requires us to commit a few genocides and atrocities to bring about more darkness and chaos, the way the Ascians have been doing every single time, I have a hard time seeing how "dark is not always bad".
Even when "our side" does morally bad things, we as the WoL clearly still think it's bad and wrong, so having to abandon that in order to side with the Ascian Way is going to be a huge personality change.
I would also like to note that Hydaelyn herself also thinks that the Flood of Light is a bad thing that should be stopped, hence sending Minfilia over with the 3.x Warriors of Darkness. She clearly cares for us in a way the Ascians do not; the only way I could see us turn against her is due to some tragic difference of opinion where we merely disagree with the methods of caring, even if we agree on the end goal. This is in contrast to the Ascians, who, as I've mentioned before, almost always treat people as things. (I think the only exception so far is Unukalhai.)
well looks like we are taking the fight to garlemald about time we deliver harsh punishment to them.
Yoshida has already mentioned that the game will continue on after the Hydaelyn/Zodi-arc is wrapped up.
My first guess is (always) Allagans, since there have been more teases added to the pile that suggest Salina knew something big was coming. But then, I also feel like that could/should get wrapped up with Garlemald, because copycat empire and all that.
Either way, we still have a number of Calamities that didn't leave much in recorded history, so there could still be some pretty awful stuff just waiting to be dug up.

Well Kuriboh is in the trailer so I'd imagine it's relevantHi I’m here at Fanfest and noticed something in Lore Book II that I think might play into Shadowbringer’s teaser.
There’s a page for each dungeon and a blurb for the final bosses. For Kuribu it says the statue is modeled after a transcendental being from another plane.
There are a few more likey answers: cinema team not always being 100% accurate; representation of Light, etc; but it’s fun to think about seven months out
It isn't just Kuriboh, all monsters in the teaser are Amdapor related. If they used Kuribu just for a image of a "light" enemy I question why the consistency of all enemies being from the same origin. But again, the cinematics team isn't really famous for its lore consistency. See: Heavensward Trailer.
