Heh, the Ammano artwork makes it look like Darkness is guarding/protecting Light.
I wonder if the conflict is less Darkness vs Light and more True Darkness and True Light vs. False Darkness and False Light.
The Amano's artwork is interesting
Probably the ex-WoL, who looks a lot like Odin while mounting a big black horse.
The change of appearance of FATE Odin was some kind of hint since 2.0, then?
And a girl (probably the same with Thancred in the trailer)
Even with the change from Light to Dark we aren't going to be bad guys atleast. Given that we are also still going after Garlemald and the Ascians their idea of balance is still not what we are shooting for.
Still plenty of time to learn more info for speculation though. Right now I'm just really glad that DRK is the headlining job since that means it should get something good with job adjustments and new skills. Should be, being the key word.

Just going by the teaser, it seems to be referring to us, going rogue to avert a calamity of Light in place of the Warriors of Darkness.
We have so little info, though, since this is presumably off of something at the end of 4.5. I am loving Thancred's new look, though (basically confirmation that he's going to get better at some point, no that there was much doubt).
The trailer mentions years passing (which is completely unheard of in the current continuity scheme), so I almost wonder if we're going to get a timeskip or two-way time travel of some sort. That would let them make patch continuity actual canon while opening up a lot of dangling loose ends for proper continuation (most notably Unukalhai, though he may be brought in before then).
And yes, I'm also hoping that all the teases lately have been leading up to a certain long-awaited reunion in The Future™, but that's actually looking really plausible this time around. The irony would be intense. "Yeah, so, uh, I did make a bright and shiny future, as promised, but now we need to destroy it."

I was a big nerd for the war of magi story and holy shit I screamed and cried when I see the 3rd and 2nd boss of Amdapor hard appeared on the teaser :')
The simbolism on the trailer is good
Specially that part with Zenos, the WoL and the moon.
The lightside of the Cresent moon is on WoL's side while the Dark side is on Zenos'.
And whoops Tsukuyomi flashback.

Yeah, I think it too.
The guy who call the scion is maybe a powerful force from the light, the 1st great appearance since long from the light side.
I think Hydaelyn and Zodiark are not the true Light and Darkness (false divinities). They don't want truly the balance but just dominate the other side.
So the girl of light will appear and will need someone from the darkside, so us I imagine, to truly restore the balance.
But if we are not doing much different then before are we truly a WoD? Does that mean we are taking the side of Zodiark? What will we learn to make us do that? Maybe he has changed and wants to go against the Ascians too? (Since this is seemingly the expansion where we are dealing with them) Or will we simply believe a lie thus creating the next calamity thanks to that? So many questions and such a long time to have the answer. x) I just hope it makes sense because right now I am fully on TeamCrystalMum and dont want to really betray her.Even with the change from Light to Dark we aren't going to be bad guys atleast. Given that we are also still going after Garlemald and the Ascians their idea of balance is still not what we are shooting for.

Also how will that go with us reconstructing Ishgard or having the new ally system where we can take certain NPCs with us?
In the release teaser video, the god figure that the character seemed to be fighting looked exactly like the end boss of the Lost City of Amdapor (Hard), Kuriboh.

Does this mean this cataclysmic event relates to this region and the people that lived There? Or maybe I'm mistaken. The resemblance is uncanny
