I don't know, sir. I only pointed that to suggest that the data has context which you may want to consider. I also used the wrong terms "accounts" and "players" earlier. The stats are for "characters" not "players". The footnotes state the parameters on how the statistics were compiled. It's my fault for not reading the footnotes in full.

If it is only going by characters then that should be more cause for concern. That would mean there are far less players than what we see. That's why I don't think it's going off of just characters. If it was, the number should be much higher I would think. Like FFXIV's claims of "14 million players worldwide!" We can also gauge population of certain servers by checking out which servers are made into "preferred servers", servers with low population.

The numbers are inofficial and gathered through the Lodestone by checking the character data. There is no way to tell that these two characters belong both to that one account, so they can't tell how many active accounts there are, only active characters, by checking if the character got new mounts, minions, changed their gear or whatever.

So people with an active twink are counted twice. On the other hand people with an active sub who don't play are not counted.
