LOL, I was sure "Winter's Knell" and "Winter Is Not Coming" had to be a pop culture reference to Game Of Thrones.

On a serious note, the Starlight Celebration is my favorite holiday event. As long as there is music and snow, I will be happy.

I mean... eventually, winter has to come... right?

I'm currently reading the 2nd book in the series. I never knew about it until I saw a preview for the first episode on HBO. I scrambled to read book 1 before the show started. The show stays close to the books, but so much is missed when written for the screen.

These newspaper reports are so ZzzZZzzZZz, most of the lore they make up for them is so boring it just puts me to sleep. Just tell us about the event and what items we get for crying out loud lol.

I disagree, the lore for a lot of our recent events has tied in with the 7th Umbral Era in some way. The change in climate could have something to do with Dalamud or the geological anomaly that is supposed to pop up at some point according to the 2.0 outline. Also I find it interesting that we're learning a little more about the culture of Ala Mhigo, especially considering what has happened there.

If there isn't gonna be a winter in Eorzea because of dalamud and all the rest of the catastrophic stuff impending, does this mean that once the moon explodes or whatever and everything goes back to normal (as normal as post-apocalyptic can get, that is), that we CAN expect there to be winter in 2.0?

In other words, will 2.0 include season cycles?

Cuz if not, then it should read "Winter will NEVER come."

I don't know about season cycles per se, but looking at some of the PDFs for 2.0, there seems to be areas where there are snow.

Aw, it would be a lot more fun if we could get custcenes in the game instead of the Lodestone posts, but I appreciate them still. I think the translators are doing an awesome job, and I absolutely love all the pop culture references.
