This is where I feel the "relic is midcore" argument falls apart. In fact, let's review 4.2 to the end of 4.3.

- MSQ
- Three dungeons
- Namazu
- Sigmascape Normal
- Ridorana
- Two Primals
- New recipes
- Kurenai
- A handful of side quests

Without Eureka, this is all you have. Since Yoshida himself lumps EX and Savage together, we can infer when he talks about more casual players, he doesn't mean EX Primals either. Therefore, even if people did everything else, you'd have content for a month... when these two respective patches lasted seven. It just makes little else the developers would lack this much foresight, or actually believe they've released enough content for the general playerbase if Eureka were considered "niche". If they do... we're in for a very rough expansion because people are already complaining about how bored they are.
