Or they'll simply complain they can't get them. Savage did have a unique story originally. The whole reason normal mode exists is due to how many people complained it was unfair raiders got the story and they didn't. Likewise, look at all the whining about the relic not matching the ilvl of raid weapons. You can imagine if raid gear were better or could carry over into the next tier while casual players had no means of upgrading higher? People complained Ultimate required you to beat Neo and Kefka. I still find that funny. One of the biggest issues is SE listens to people who typically don't raid when designing content even for raiders. Although, admittedly, I don't really care if Savage lacks a unique story. A good portion of the raid community is there for the challenge anyway.

Maybe if they added more mid-core content there wouldn't be as much complaining but everything is either faceroll or savage with barely any in-between. Tome gear is great but should not equal the 24 man gear which is basically the only thing remotely close to mid core content we have. Should go Tome > Mid Core > Savage/Raid.

The only reasons ppl complain about underpowered relics is because of their special nature and the time/effort they take to make. Relics should be a powerful thing and worth the effort as well. But as it stands they take way more effort than raid tier weapons, they just require a lower skill threshold, heck sometimes they require no skill threshold. imo they should require items or wins from both easy and mid core content and rely less on fates and grinding the same mobs/primals for endless hours. They could have even used the so-called "hard mode" of dungeons for relics instead of making them just more faceroll side dungeons.

The variety the game is lacking is not just in the savage raid tier. It's even worse in the mid-core tier and if they would beef both them up and not downplay the importance of the relic I think it would make a difference.

And someone will always complain about something. SE needs to just learn they cannot make everyone happy and focus on adding more fun and interesting content for casuals, mid cores and hard core players because there is a HUGE gap as it stands now.

Imho the first 3 turns of savage and extreme trials are midcore content (when they're relevant). There's way more midcore content than hardcore content in the game. Thankfully they're moving in the right direction with ultimate raids.

To the average gamer, yes this is midcore content. To the average XIV player, this is hardcore content lol
