    I don't mind the repetitive grind, same ol formula etc. Could it be better, sure.

    I'm playing for the story. I loved this game's events leading up to The Final Steps of Faith and Castrum Fluminis trials for example. The music, cinematography, everything. No other game out there atm can get me that invested in their story, especially now with the reveal at the end of 4.4 MSQ. That was 5 years in the making.

    As far as i'm concerned, FFXIV ARR is a book series that I have to pay 14.99 a month to continue reading. And if i have to repeat a few dungeons and cap weekly tomes whatever so I can continue turning the pages, eh, what's $15 a month to me.

    Biggest Issue with FFXIV atm:

    - Tab Targeting PVP Combat. Dev's should try to play Black Desert Online and maybe get some ideas on how to improve combat from there.

    - Lack of Open world PVP. Eureka + GW2's WvW + BDO's combat mechanics = Success

    - 2.0/3.0 zones/Dungeons. The combat at level 1-60 is so slow. Getting queued as a tank into Satasha and spamming 2 skills over and over is not fun xD.


    Biggest things FFXIV did right compared to the other MMO I used to play:

    - Bi-Weekly banwaves of bots/hackers/exploiters/gold sellers.

    - Progression Caps.

    - Balanced Game.

    - Dev's communicating with it's playerbase and taking feedback .

    - Not Addicting .

    - Excellent Customer Support.

    - Can easily succeed if it turns into a 18+ Mature game and goes full on Adult RP MMO xD.

    My own Personal Opinion is that the game overall is enjoyable even if there's issues in other areas.

    As someone who has, on occasion, unsub to play other games I can honestly say that the shift to glamour end-game instead of progression has ruined the difficulty for me. Fights aren't even that hard but finding other players at my skill level is, and I'm not even that good of a player, mid-core at best. Also this game has tons of contradictions with regards to it's game design and focus; examples include:

    -Push for more PvP by locking glamours behind wolf marks but failing to address basic gameplay feel, balance and server tick lag (really tired of every feast match being a zerg rush on the healers and actions not working as intended ex. holmgang's draw-in)
    -No option to dye PAID mogstation items, and over priced for something that is character locked and not account wide (best example of how SE only sees you as a sucker and not a customer)
    -Recycled content with heavy grinds and rng tied progression creating fluff content (eureka is Diadem 2.0 but worse)
    -Stretching out content to keep people subbed longer but not actually adding any more content (we are receiving the the same amount of content in a 3 month patch but now stretched out to 4+ months)

    Those are but a few of the problems with this game. I really do like this game though as someone who has been here since 2.0 beta but I just feel like Yoshi is just creating content to keep people subbed and not to keep people entertained. I feel like whenever I resub for another month I do it begrudgingly. It's even gotten to the point where I don't realize my sub ran out and I get booted during gameplay. As far as the grind goes I actually don't mind it. The contradictions in this game however I do mind. I just want a director that knows what they want and what the players want and not flip-flop on their ideals just for a quick buck.

    Also lying about the over 10 mil subscribers really annoyed me as there is no where near that amount of ACTIVE subscribers.

    I am well aware the game I am going to bring up is very criminal with microtransactions but my friend started me on maple story 2 just for a new prospective. I am not going to sit here and say it is better, def has a lot of problems but the thing that really got me to post here about it is the housing system. Maybe SE can take this tip for the next game since I know this suggestion is out of the question unless they do this for 5.0 but the thing I liked was simply this.

    Everyone gets an instanced house. Very customizable too, what some people do is really amazing. Anyways what I would like to see is everyone having an instanced house. Also the zones can have predetermined spots where you can construct a building that acts like a zone gate to your instance house. Since these are clearly limited they would be attached to ongoing fees like a monthly gil payment. This way even if you fail to keep up the reincuring fees of the plot you still have your house (teleport to instance) Wards simply do not work, I mean it is a good idea in theory but people hardly make use of them and pretty much a consistent ghost town. So what I am suggesting here, to SE is maybe in new zones or your next MMO, try this route.

    The really strange thing? SE's previous MMO not only had this, but also a private/instanced island for every single player.

    I know one game isn't like another but it makes it really puzzling that SE implemented such a counterintuitive, limited housing system. It's not like they're new to it.

The main problem is Dev stubbornness, player base says one thing, they say no you will like this, and the same complaints just pop up. That is not trying.
    This. Trying something and having it flop doesn't mean that you tried something new in the first place. Just as often XIV side-projects have flopped specifically because they never bothered to change directions from, or even meaningfully reiterate upon, past mistakes. LoV and RW are perhaps the only truly unique side-contents. Every other project met with significant criticism has been repeated almost verbatim despite that.

    I know about that, what I wanted get at is with the idea of intergrading plot points in the open world. instead of having these wards that does not work, why not do what maple story 2 does? basically they have plots scattered everywhere and people pay a recurring (gil) fee. So you buy this plot in the open world that acts like a zone to your instanced house. If one day you can't pay the fee, you just lose the plot, not the house itself since it is already instanced. Also your house is attached to your account, something people been asking for FFXIV.
