Fey Wind Needs a Buff

I think that Fey Wind doesn't need a buff but should be changed to something else that doesn't make the co-healer work more only because the SCH prefers to use Selene instead of Eos.

Maybe this is bad luck on my side, but every time I get a SCH that uses Selene as co-healer (and I'm talking about learning parties or casual parties where a lot of people are new or get hit a lot, not perfect farm parties where everyone knows exactly when to do what - I get that you can use Selene for those), he still heals as if he has Eos out and I have to heal more instead.
I won't mention that WHEN they have Eos out they use her on sic so that all her abilities go to waste anyway though and they could also have used Selene...

So maybe they should give Selene some kind of healing ability as well instead of Fey Wind. And make it so that you can use Eos only on obey. Please.

Fey Wind can also make some classes annoyed as hell. Boosting my gdc when im mch is just aweful.

It's really not Fey Wind, but rather Selene choice as a whole that should be re-evaluated.

All the good Scholars start end-game fights with Selene, press Fey Wind, and re-summon Eos before the countdown is over. Don't need Fey Illumination cool down at the beginning, so trade it for Fey Wind.

Pretty much this. If they want selene to be the buff fairy then they need to get rid of the silence. The game isn't coded well enough for it to work reliably, and most bosses can't be silenced.

It worked fine in Midas Savage. A6S and A8S had mandatory boss silences.

Wasn't that generally either the BRD or MCH's job back then though? It seemed to be a waste since I remember silencing A6S a lot.

Though in regards to Fey Wind, I think Selene needs a rework. She's way overdue for it considering Eos has been the only fairy anyone uses just because she provides more heals. Selene provides...an AoE Esuna, Silence, and a Haste.

2 of the most useless things in current content and one of them being very, very niche.

If anything, I think Selene ought to be built like this:

Selene
- Embrace
- Fey Wind
- Fey Prayer: Heals for 250 potency and removes a single status effect to allies within range. 60s CD. Upgraded from Fey Caress via trait.
- Dusk's Decree: Inflicts Silence and reduces the target's damage dealt by 5% for 10s. 60s CD. Upgraded from Silent Dusk via trait.

These would at least be some improvement for 5.0, I'd imagine, given how Silent Dusk has aged badly.

It's Eos being too powerful, maybe switching Whispering Dawn with Fey Wind is a good idea. So making Eos a pure buff pet and Selena a function pet with silence, HOT, and debuff remove pet.

I wouldn't argue that EoS is too OP (I dont think we have a trait that makes our faeries stronger) because at the earlier levels the difference isnt truly as noticeable.

At this point Selene is just super dated, which is sad because shes the main one shown in the Scholar stories.

Yes, sometimes my MCH would say they accidentally used their silence before the mechanic. But then if you pugged or helped a group without an aiming job you could still do it.

Fairies get about 75% of your equipped stats. Gear ladder is noticeable, and that is how some Scholars soloed current dungeons in the day.

I may not be an expert but as a sch main I've always felt fey wind was okay. We've got chain stratagem anyway so wouldn't buffing fey wind kind make things a little op?

I think selene is fine. there is some speed kills that show Selene can bring 400 - 500 raid dps on its own. Eos can heal aoe without using globals.

Healing is all about trading heals for dps and vice versa. It is same for other abilities too. If you use aetherflows for energy drain then you have less lustrate/indom etc. If you have to cast succor/adlo, you have less broils etc. Every fight is different and have different priorities.
