    No other buff gave raw main stat boosts like Hawk's Eye. With the current scaling it would be utterly absurd. Hawk's Eye is literally the equivalent of two Grade III Infusions every 90 seconds. To put that into perspective, this equates to well over 4,000 extra pDPS over a ten minute fight. Bard would be so insanely broken, it'd nearly double the DPS of even Samurai or Black Mage. That's why it was removed.

    I disagree, because if it was just “reduce BRD to one damage buff”, they could have just deleted Raging Strikes and kept Hawk’s Eye as it was instead of deleting HE and reworking RS. HE was removed because it would have caused balance issues the more DEX scaled as the expansion progressed. I think that was possibly why Flaming Arrow was removed as well, since it was 400 free potency every 60 seconds.

    I doubt that BRD will suffer a third overhaul, and I doubt that they will destroy the job come 5.0 by pruning things like RS or BL; I also think the developers are well aware of the backlash that would occur if they were to mess with a job that has already been turned upside down on itself twice. I think you’re worrying for no reason, personally.

    I feel like they said this before. Then they took away Flaming Arrow and let Bards keep a nerfed version of Repelling Shot. Oh right, and we still learned so many abilities and ended up with the debacle with the Role Abilities in regards to what is deemed useful and what is always chosen by every healer. Am I wrong, did they not say this sort of thing before, like two years ago, pre-SB?

    As a Samurai who uses pretty much every skill I have, I'm not sure what they'd remove outside of role skills.

    Maybe third eye, merciful eyes and seigan make the least impact. You can always move enmity reduction skills to another skils.

    The issue is most Samurai, myself included, rarely get to use the Open Eyes status because of how precise Third Eye needs to be. Upping the duration of third eye and making it instant regardless of animation would go a long way to making merciful eyes a bit more used.

    Right? Ninja is the only job in the entire game that has been meta since release. Even Scholar had a very brief period of potentially sitting out due to how much they gutted it at Stormblood's launch. Even the Monk buffs have only just started giving Ninja a legitimate threat. Samurai though?

    I agree with you. Not only would it make the hotbars less cluttered but it would also stop them from taking out skills which (as Magic-Mal pointed out) may make the lower levels even more boring. And its not like every skill is part of a combo so a lot of jobs should still have their own difficulty to use it.

    Also one button for a combo might take up the bottom of the less skilled players, while the skilled ones are already that used to their job that they can probably play it blind already. And on one point they will hit a wall where they simply cant take away more skills because each one will have their use thus they need a solution for this anyway.

    I am also sad that the glamour dresser still needs time to increase some functions..another system where we dont even know when and how we get improvements and seemingly is that horrible on their system that they need to increase it with caution. Wonder if that one will turn into another "more egis coming later" thing too..
