I was helping a friend clear Castrum Fluminis on my WHM. We had one wipe just due to how many new people were involved but the second go was looking really promising. We had her down to about 10% hp, when more than half the group forgot to stack. The blast unfortunately killed me and the only two people who had also grouped up. Another went down a second after, followed by the off tank who stepped in the fans. At this point people start telling healer two to LB. Nothing. A few more people type in caps for them to LB. In the meantime the last dps of the people alive eats it. Now its the main tank and the scholar left standing and everyone dead is repeatedly telling them to LB. Eventually they res me instead and I hit it as soon as I think I'm safe but its a massive pain to ever stand still in that fight. I end up dead just as the cast closes because the Scholar doesn't heal me. They then die along with the main tank, leaving the rest of the now raised party with no healer. We wipe, naturally.

Of course people are confused why they didn't LB like they should have and someone just days '...so what the heck?' in chat. The scholars response was a simple 'I do not put LB on the bar'. We were all a bit confused. I've had people misplace it or forget to put it on for new classes but not a on a trial that far in and certainly not without ah apology. We let them know to do it now but they inform the whole group that 'they are not shit' and don't need to have it on their bar because 'LB is for DPS'. I've never seen a healer kicked so fast.

In general I think I have been pretty lucky to *mostly* get good groups, however last night I finally got something to contribute to this thread!

We were doing Shisui of the Violet Tides and I was MCH, we had a PLD tank (who was a sprout, in stormblood content, which is a little unusual) and WHM healer (who along with me ultimately ended up being the tank!)

First pull, tank only pulls 3 mobs, which is OK if you are unfamiliar with the dungeon, I get that (though as a tank main makes me sad). The problem is they are only using provoke and ultimatum as their aggro skills...so obviously with me doing AOE and the healer having to spam heals on me to keep me alive, not a single mob ends up actually attacking the tank.

After the first pull, I check the tanks gear...full shire gear with one off ring. Look at his other classes, 2 or 3 others below 50, but nothing else. I would put money on a main scenario skip and job skip...without so much as a vague look at how to tank!

Amazingly we did actually finish!

Shsui is level 63, you won't get much better gear then (Augmented) Shire gear at that point and you don't really need it till you reach Bardan's Mettle. More worrysome is a PLD using only Provoke and Ultimatum at that point, the 2 most useless tank skills in a dungeon .... he really should learn to use stuff like Flash, Circle of Scorn and Total Eclipse there.

Jesus, i personally have forgot to put the LB button when starting new classes sometimes, but if we die due to me not using it, at least i apologize for the wipe. Not having it for those reasons is beyond moronic, moreso when you are on relatively recent content which means you didnt gave a sh*t for 70 frigging levels plus 2 entire patches. I guess would be the kind of guy who would have claimed bloody murder when seeing Tanks use their LB3 on Alexander...

Been noticing that a lot of tanks do not take Chaos to the corner during Cyclone phase any more (in Normal). Do they not realise melee DPS have positionals?

Don't really have to be corners but at least turn it. I got a tank that have 90% of Chaos inside the tornado

They'll turn him for the knock-back, but then go straight back to keeping his rear in the tornado.

Had a bard in Castrum Abania last night who used nothing but heavy shot, straight shot, and raging strikes. No dots, no songs, no peloton, no refresh/tactician, not a single other skill.

I had healers that used the same amount of abilities and if I politely ask them to please at least do something and summon their fairy I get called toxic and they are doing their job if they just follow the rest of the group in PotD. Don't even think about vote-kicking them for that.
I have the feeling that while everyone agrees that a DPS that only uses like 3 abilities deserves to be kicked if he doesn't react to chat in any way, healers that use 1 button every minute at maximum have full immunity...

Was in the Vault, had a pld that literally popped every cool down (including hallowed ground) at the start of a boss fight and on small packs. Ate every mechanics and stood in the aoes, same with the DPS.

PLD could have been a bot. They tend to do that - pop every cooldown in existence the moment an enemy is engaged if they're off-cooldown, and eat absolutely everything. If they were moving strangely and doing nothing but single-targeting a mob, they were more than likely a bot.

I've gotten bot PLDs quite a bit in ARR dungeons (usually Qarn... why is it always Qarn), but haven't seen one in a HW dungeon yet.

this is not a grand story but… I cannot fathom why RDMs are allergic to Moulinet. So few I see using it. I just did Arboretum HM, with the tank pulling big and I've been mowing mobs with embolden + enchanted moulinet as much as I could. Build up 90 mana and it's an aoe machine. My co dps, another rdm, kept using the single target combo (enchanted riposte, zwerchau, redoublement). When I pointed out that moulinet was more effective he said "Tell me more" and proceeded with single enchanted combo. If you are going to be sassy, understand what aoe and single target are first! MOULINET EXISTS
