I think it's overrated too i bought it cause of all the hype and kept falling asleep cause of the boring ass combat i can't believe ppl was complaining about turn based combat lol...
The gameplay hasn't progressed anywhere since what, Morrowind? I don't think these kind of shortcomings should go unnoticed. it's still a vidya game damn it. Plus, there is a lot more (quality) competition in the market nowadays. open world game is nothing special.
The UI is horrible in every way imaginable. All it needs is innate lag to be on par with XIV. At least XIV is not overrated.
lol everyone bashed me for trading it in i just didn't have that magic to me <.< It felt like GTA with rpg elements lolThe gameplay hasn't progressed anywhere since what, Morrowind? Edit: i think US gamers love anything with open world in it that auto makes the game = gopod cause it gives a false sense of freedom, I say this being a American gamer.

i kind of have to agree.
i think lady gaga is nothing but a cheap marketing ploy and cant stand the fake trick, but i cant argue with what sounds good to the masses. i mean, how many of you listen to Bjork? shes a musical genious in my book but shed never reach britteny or gaga sales.
then again FFXIII had a large amount of initial sales yet i read nothing but mixed to slightly negative reviews, from the battle system to the linear story line to the excessively predictable character personalities to the annoyance of vanille.
there was one part in the game where Snow got upset so he threw himself on the ground, eyes closed and i thought to myself "lol omg watch hes gonna hammer fist the ground" AND LOW AND BEHOLD HE DID JUST THAT lol how trite.
i myself played up until i got the shiva sisters and never looked back.
ps, i think the battle system in skyrim sucks. well at least on PC... WHERE IS MY ACTION BAR?

15 abilities each? what is this... Kindergarten?A jack of all trades WHM... what is this 1989?
I'm dealing with what again? That Skryim sold 3.4million copies in two days? One of the most highest ranked video games of the season by mainstream media, and independent gaming sources? It is not without it's glitches, but that's not the point. Overhyped is definitely an opinion. FFXIV is a superbrand and it flopped. Skyrim sold hardcopies, and still receives praise despite glaring issues.
You deal. And you will stay mad.

That a game that sold millions of copies in a matter of days is actually a merely a decent, overrated shot at open world games that is saved by good brand and PR management, employing fanboys to defend it's shortcomings on every turn.
I don't have a problem with the success of Bethesda's PR team's efforts. You, on the other hand, seem to be unable to cope with simple facts, claiming them as opinions and countering them with irrelevant details. It's a decent effort that was sold to consumers in an excellent way.
So instead of being delayed from 12/14 to 12/16 it would be delayed from 12/6 to 12/8.Hire more people...
Good 10 gil.

Aside from the fact that loving or hating a vidya game is completely subjective, Skyrim had at launch, more quests, more interesting places to go, and more to do than FFXIV has even now after being released over a year ago. For a single player RPG to be able to do that in comparison to, what SHOULD have been, a high production MMO by a notoriously famous RPG company is pathetic. And I couldn't help but laugh when you said that the game mechanics of SKyrim haven't changed since MOrrowind mostly because the FF series is now well over 14 main titles deep and still follows the same "press x for everything" game mechanic. I certainly am not trying to tell you what games to love, and if you don't like skyrim, right on, to each his own. BUt the reason people are making comparissons is because it was still produced and released better than this title, which has been floundering since release. The gameplay hasn't progressed anywhere since what, Morrowind? I don't think these kind of shortcomings should go unnoticed. it's still a vidya game damn it.
