Fordola is... complex. On the one hand she's done awful things, on the other hand she's now living in what might as well be a custom-made hell, endlessly hearing the thoughts of the people who rightfully hate her. And I like to think that nobody is beyond redemption if they genuinely want it.

Arenvald should be in Rhalgr's Reach - west side near the river, if I remember correctly. Unless he's moved elsewhere now.

Then why would Thancred, who at the time he made the suggestion was in the Ala Mhigan quarters tell you to go to the reach right before the meeting? I guess he's back from where he went in his and Fordola's side story?

Remember thar Fordola wasnt evil per se, but she though that integrating on Garlemald was for the best and oppose them was the epitome of folly that would only cause more death and suffering on long term. She was trying to prove that Ala Mighans could be integrated into Garlemald instead of being considered subhuman savages.

Lyse and Fordola are two the faces of the same coin: Both wants to best for their countrymen but while one is idealistic and protected by plot armor reaching her objective with almost no effort, the other has seen the ugly side of reality and betting your countrymen future on the unlikely chance to beat Garlemald and free Ala Migho was a no go, so she choose to dirty her hands to try reach her objective

Fordola though that it was fine with them being hated and scorned as long as she provided a future for their countrymen living as equals to garleans. Even if she had to pave the way with her countrymen corpses was a price she was prepared to asume.

Personally i like Fordola much more than Lyse, because she faced realistic situations and took realistic actions. Lyse instead goes from scion scatterbrain comic relief to acting leader of the Resistence despite her sheer incompetence at leading (thanks god Raubahn picked the slack), with sucess following her left and right thanks to the WoL acting as All mighty janitor

Anyway I went back to check the quest script to see if it had unique dialogue for Arenvald if you talk to him at that point, and couldn't find anything from him OR anything from Thancred directly telling us to talk to him.... but is this the line you were thinking of? Just before we enter the palace for the meeting.

So, that leaves four of us to attend the council. Arenvald is here to assist with security, incidentally, though the poor lad seems altogether too distracted for the task. Another one missing Alphinaud, I expect.

So according to the story he's in Ala Mhigo at the time, but I don't think it sounds like he's actually there-in-the-game for us to talk to, though it's possible.

He's worth talking to at his usual loaction at different points in the story though. He's had different comments after each 4.X patch.




(In any case, if Thancred was sending us over to the Reach at that point, it would make about as much sense as trekking from Ala Mhigo to Mor Dhona to meet Urianger, who immediately says he wants to have a look at Thancred, who we presumably left behind in Ala Mhigo...)

I think that's the line. I tried to see if he was in the surrounding area, but couldn't find him. i think the Urianger part is that's where we tend to go and see him. At least when he isn't giving us an item that'll save our butts. I swear he's a better ninja than yugiri.

I believe the mother crystal and her voice is limit the option so we ether contact her figure out what best action or limit are ability make wrong move. let suppose we found what we suppose I bet she tell the scion too and they will be restore, hopeful no evil beings tried make use of them body while they out

Fordola is an interesting character and I wouldn't mind seeing more of her. But she is also a straight-up mass murderer, guilty of war crimes against both sides of the conflict; us and her own men.

There needs to be lasting consequences for her actions for her story to carry any weight whatsoever. The absolutely last thing I want to see is her holding hands with Ala Mhigan leadership or the WoL and singing kumbaya. I feel like any "toning down" of her downright rabid zealotry at this point in the story would only be a disservice to the SB story as a whole and her character in particular.

She is absolutely all of those things, but she’s also trying to atone. As mentioned, she has a collar in place and is used to help fight primals and do things only she is capable to do as penance for her previous deeds. I’d love for her to work with us, and over time we win her over. Nothing overnight, I’d like it to be a slow progression. Let the story take the time for her to get close, while say the ascians try to lure her to help them and betray us by removing that collar, but she ultimately sticks with us.

I’d love to go into more story and fights with Fordola at my side. She was the one out of the two who I truly saw could fight and claw for her redemption.

Sounds like she needs to play a major role in the next expansion.
