The very specific people who were contacted shows that the caller definitely has inside knowledge of the scions; all of the "core" members were affect but not the ones who are currently out of commission- Alphy, Lyse, and we haven't heard about Krile. I really feel like it is someone we (the WoL) know personally. Still leaning toward time travel being involved.

For me it feels like any scion was taken away, that could hinder the plan that this voice has. Thancred was taken right after he told the plan and how he could help, while Ysthola and Urianger were taken when they talked about the missing aether and wanting to see Thancred. This really gives the vipe that the voice hopes to stop us with that. Now we are left with Alisaie and the WoL, one who has no deep knowledge like the other scions do and another one that is blessed by Hydaelyn and may have a protection against this calling.

Its interesting that some in the JP playerbase say that it sounds like an older Alphinaud, some in the englisch version say its Arbert and at least for me it sounded nothing like both in the german one. So either this is meant as a red herring to make us speculate, or they just used different voice actors because not everyone was available. I still lean towards Zodiark, because Arbert never had the power to do something like that and our WoL should have recognized his voice and if it was Alphinaud, then I dont understand why he was not telling us right what we need to know. Zodiark would have every reason to try to stop us from going with the plan because that could stop the next calamity from happening thus could stop him from coming back.

Considering how non japanese versions tend to switch voice actors without much an issue, i tend to believe that if jp voice sounds like Alphinaud, it is Alphinaud, since is very rare for them to switch voice actors and Junichi Suwabe VA (Arbert voice) is easy to recognize

But they said he sounded more like an adult version, thus it could be an older Alpinaud, or they truly just got a voiceactor that sounded similiar to Alphinaud but is not meant to be him.

I play with jp voices and watched the jp trailer. It does sound like Alphinaud and has no similarities with any other voice but has a deeper tone than usual They tend to use that tone when they portrait older characters instead of teenagers like Alphi

Sounds like she needs to play a major role in the next expansion.

Imo she should have been the SB lead Ala Migho side instead of Lyse. Still cant believe we are forced to cope with her, being the plucky comic relif is one thing, change from that to leader doesnt make sense, thanks god shes mostly a figurehead

I'll be quite honest...I would prefer that none of them woke up at all. We need more interesting characters. New blood if you will. None of them are particularly interesting aside from Yshtola. But even that happens in small doses, so most of the time she's rather generic...much like the rest of the Scions.

We would never see a world full of a flood of light because nothing would be able to exist there, probably even us not. Thus a flood of light on our world would probably be the end of the game.

If its truly adult Alphinaud then the time bubble has expanded and a few years must have passed to let him grow up. If we ever get to see the mysterious voice in person and its truly him that they would need an adult body for him too.

Honestly with some of the scions out again I do wonder what horrible big things will go done in the last SB patch since ARR and HW both ended with quite some big things happening. I cant believe that a calamity would happen that fast because the city states have only began their actions thus that should take time. Maybe the city Ala Mhigo is destroyed (thus the reason why we never got a complete city in that region?)?

I believe is spirit linked to artifact that part of house of crooked coins. these event start happen after we return to are comrades to contue the story along, yet it said a require of blood was ask for, if entire artifact complete turn off that aether floor everywhere it be better. let suppose aether even block in capital city of empire the people there raise in area aether lacking suppose this could be possible reason they aren't able to access magic aswell

Lyse sure has not got much screen time despite her being the center of the videos before the expansion, she seemed more useful when she was a Pugilist wearing the mask, lol

I think Square Enix realized they wrote themselves into a corner by having a ditz become a rebel leader (for almost no reason) and are trying to distance themselves from that aspect of Stormblood. I was laughing when Lyse tried to narrate the introduction of each new zone, as if she were the new Count Edmont de Fortemps. Thing was, Fortemps was narrating out of his memoirs about the Dragonsong War, whereas Lyse was narrating ...a travel diary? And the only reason she's doing what she's doing is nepotism? I think SE realized she was better suited at being mysterious and punching things, then she was at being a ditzy rebel princess. In fact, her character was ill conceived as we learn she's a fraud with no leaderships skills and gets put into a position of leadership because of nepotism. In most stories, she'd be the antagonist. And it would be hard to write stories for her because we've already had stories about Sultana Nanamo learning how to be a leader, and Raubahn already has stronger ties to Ala Mhigo and he already has the leadership skills and charisma to lead.

At first I through removing Lyse would help the Scions get more character focus, and that is what happened...but now their all unconscious. *sigh*

I'm still not sure that we can assume The Voice is any character we've even met yet. I don't think we can rule out that it's someone new altogether just because it vaguely sounds like certain characters different languages. As for the Scions, it does get a bit tiresome having so many of them frequently out of action at any given time. Thancred probably needs a break more than any of them at this point... Dude's been through more than probably any of the others that are still with us.
