In completely changing the form of government, there is good reason the military could go through a complete reform. It is going to take time for Ishgard to reform, not just the HW expansion. That ship has clearly sailed. There is no reason lore wise for Ishgard to gain a GC, because the whole reason the GCs were established in the first place was to cover manpower shortages in the three main cities and consolidate their resources in the lead-up to the Calamity, because the three cities did not actually have full-time standing armies (they only had token militia forces, hence the whole point of the 'adventurer system' in the first place), in order to mount a suitable defence against Nael van Darnus and the VIIth Legion's imminent invasion.
Ishgard on the other hand, never established a GC because they remained independent of the Eorzean Alliance and did not participate with the other cities in the Battle of Carteneau. Moreever, they had no need to establish a GC, as they already maintained a full-time standing army that was continuosly mobilized because it was fighting the Dragonsong War - it even has it's own volunteer force in the form of the Convictors, a rowdy and undisciplined bunch to be sure.
Besides, Ishgard's story is pretty much completed now, the narrative's focus is now on Gyr Abania and the Far East and onwards towards Islabard and the Garlean capital, so with Ishgard's day in the sun passing, SE probably won't be adding much else gameplay wise to it I'm afraid.

I know; I only included “replica” because you would be surprised at how some would be upset they were original, regardless of how little accomplishment they took to get in the first place.![]()

I mean I was strongly pushing for Replica in the White Ravens

I didn't say you said it was, I'm just agreeing with Emstidor there.

I've said before, I feel like there are characters there whose story arc hasn't finished yet - particularly Emmanellain, and also Francel (even if he hasn't been directly in the plot since ARR, unless you go out of your way to visit him). I feel like they could be in place to get expanded later - although it's also possible that it might be just for side content, like the 60-70 MCH quest picking up Hilda's storyline. Or a Xelphatol hard mode unlock quest someday?Besides, Ishgard's story is pretty much completed now, the narrative's focus is now on Gyr Abania and the Far East and onwards towards Islabard and the Garlean capital, so with Ishgard's day in the sun passing, SE probably won't be adding much else gameplay wise to it I'm afraid.
And there are still some job quests set primarily in Ishgard, not that it would really count for relevance in the same way that MSQ involvement does.

I agree completely. I think right now would be the best possible time for a lot of changes. Ishgard's immediate troubles have finally ended, the Government has completely changed, they've become a member of the Eorzean alliance and rebuilding is underway. I can't think of a more logical time (Lore-wise) for an Ishgard Grand Company to help them better coordinate with the other Eorzean nations, as well as allowing you to own land in Ishgard. At this point, I'd even be happy with just a private room within Fortemps Manor, even if you can't decorate it yourself. Especially since when you go there now you're welcomed "Home". That's how starved for Ishgard content I am.I would like to believe we would have that as well. Ishgard housing. Ishgard furniture. Dare I suggest an Ishgard GC as a part of its new formation?
Having some people with Ishgard GC being seen by green leafs is no weirder than green leafs teleporting to their FC's Kugane house.
There is so much furniture in the game that isn't available to us yet! Have you seen that Riviera Fireplace in Wineport? I need that in my house.

I want Haukke Manor's torture rack in my basement!
Seriously though, while we're on the topic of requesting things, bring back old Feast Rewards.
"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - OK! ✅ to armor
"... and mounts?

Greetings, fellow starved-for-Ishgard-content person...
I don't know why we didn't have a room at the manor right from the start. I get the impression from the story that we are supposed to be staying there, and one of the side stories (set post-Dragonsong) actually has Alphinaud in "his room" there.
(Also surely it would be a scandal that House Fortemps isn't even properly hosting their own guests, and leaving them to find their own lodgings at a dingy inn - down in the Brume of all places!)
So, if they were going to add it to the game now, maybe we can borrow Emmanellain's room while he's away? Would even give an excuse for not being able to customise it...

Yeah the manor seems... I don't even know. Lazy? I don't want to say it but that's how it feels. That's where we were staying, and even more so now that Artoirel has taken over. There's a guard in front of the manor and one of the servants inside who both "Welcome you home", yet you're always restricted to the guest area. I'm sorry, but if they really don't plan to add Ishgard housing in the forseeable future, the least they could do is give us an instanced room to fill that desire many of us have (It seems like they get asked about Ishgard housing at almost every interview, clearly people want it).
The more I think about it, the more I realize that with our current housing system, we would never really be able to accurately reproduce an Ishgard house on our own, even with a house in Coerthas. Our interior options are just too different. I think what I'm trying to say here is that a private player room in Fortemps Manor would be far more "Ishgard" than anything we'd be able to make ourselves. I would almost prefer a developer-made Ishgard bedroom over trying to cobble one together myself (That being said I am, of course, desperate for Ishgard Player Housing too).
