The housing thing has been beaten into the ground. Yoshida should have never said what he did, but the demolition of unused estates is a necessary evil in a game where they won’t attempt to provide housing for the entire playerbase. The alternative is never implementing a demo feature, and then people who quit the game get to keep their house forever. Since they’re insistent on not moving to instanced housing, where would that put all the other players that don’t own houses? In the apartments-that-are-more-expensive-versions-of-FC-rooms? Again, a necessary evil in a system that cannot support housing for all (and in a system where developers are adamant about not shifting to such a system, be it instanced housing or dynamic wards).

As for the earrings, they should have been named “Replice White Ravens”, and be made a regular, white, level 1 glamour item. It’s pure laziness to have just implemented them as they are now.

I wouldn't mind the ability to display a tattoo, but I think we'd be better served with something new rather than something rehashed from a previous campaign.

So since we got the great White Ravens from people who played 1.0, I thought I'd make this request. Can we get the tattoo on our characters next Rising Event too? I'd love to get a tattoo back there.

When yoshida said "no housing destruction" he lied

To lie someone has to say something knowing it to be wrong. That "no housing destruction" line was said before housing had even been released.

I don't agree with a lot of SE's recent "policies", but I think it's unreasonable to hold them to something that, at the time it was said, was probably the truth. Things change. That and since then there were a lot of people on the forums complaining about "empty" houses and wanting them to be demolished. They added it because we demanded it.

Having seen the whole development history as much as possible on youtube through several documentaries and written articles and having spoken with many legacy players that sticked to the game regardless, I can just hope they will never give that brand to non 1.x players.
The amount of hope and dedication these players hat to put into the game to still just play it was huge. The nod from the devs to aknowledge people sticking to nothing but a promise that seemed so impossible is great.
As someone who doesn't have the brand, I don't want it. I did not support a game in its almost death and I would not demand the reward people got from doing so.

As someone who doesn't have the brand, I don't want it. I did not support a game in its almost death and I would not demand the reward people got from doing so.

This seems to be the most misunderstood bit of information about 1.0.

All 1.0 characters received a tattoo, or legacy mark as it is called.

However, not all 1.0 accounts have "Legacy" status. To get that (and in turn the legacy chocobo and cheaper subscription rate) you had to have paid for 90 days during a specific period of time.

So basically Legacy tattoo does not mean they have a legacy account. It doesn't help that they both have legacy in their names though.

Nope, the reward was the gobbue with a carpet, the chocobo, the mark and the sub.

In fact, people asked houses for everyone, we always ask it.
This system break a promise and... dont give house for everyone. BUT it was a cheap way to say "hey, we do efforts" (without limiting house to 1 per account that... that would have been in the begining a good idea...)

But heh, better destroy houses that doing what is needed to ensure 1 house per account. . . Players was crying about empty houses because they were jealous to seeing some not used and themselves not having one... They were right to be jealous, but the real way to solve the matter is... more wards (and more and more... ) OR ... instanced housing?


But no, Yoshida dont want instance housing, because the game is better without, but have to improve housing to not being catch up by other MMORPG he said recently... For this we should already have 1 house per player like other MMORPG no?
Better not moving from the promise to no instance housing... than no destroying system... But he did choose the easiest and cheapest way. Not the way to solve the matter.



Finally, is it not the matter with the white raven we have now, and this topic ? The cheapest way to do reward is taking what was V1.0 player's exclusivity. Nothing to create, Cheapest way...

Oh, and you said we did push to have it asap? sure? where did you read it? Because what i read was that the 2.3 wouldnt have the personnal housing even if it was theorically 6 month after FC housing, but to wait we had personnal room... and was quite good. Also i always said i would prefer no personnal housing than what we have now. i many time suggested to remove ALL personnal housing, to allow only FC housing, and limit characters to personnal room (in FC or not). And take the time needed (1 year, 2 years, 5 years, 10 years?) to make a real personnal housing... No we didnt push this, we just asked where was this close to the time they said they will give it... I am dumb i know, you say me "in three month i give you this" i come back three month later asking where is it... I can even admit delay, cancelation if it is better than breaking the system...


And when you say me "try to win this before the server closes because after you wont be able to get it" i dont think you will trick me with such change in your mind...
